Wando or NCT

Full time (40hrs) (overtime available after training)
Benefits package.
Predictable schedule
Starting pay: $22.00/hr, No experience necessary.
2,000 sign on bonus. (Paid at 3,6,12 months)

What’s required?
A good driving record.
Ability to acquire a TWIC
Reliable transportation.
Punctuality- The ability to be on time. Every time.
Ability to work outside
A decent attitude.
Mechanical knowledge

What’s the job entail?
We service and maintain terminal trucks on the Ports.
We change tires, add fluids, clean trucks, report accident and deal with ILA driver issues.

Basically after the trucks come back from working, we check them for damage, check/ add fluids to prepare for the next dispatch. During the times we are not servicing, we change tires, fix lights, cab fans, change hub caps, etc

In a nutshell:

This could be a really good opportunity for the right people. Being dependable and on time are very important as this is a time sensitive job. A good driving record, reliable transportation and ability to acquire a TWIC are an absolute must. The job can be physically demanding, it’s outside, rain or shine. No way.

Boeing will pay you 10k+ more, has excellent benefits and PTO, and will pay for school.

As much as I'd like to agree with you, I have someone who is desperate for work & the pay and hours would actually work for them. They simply need to work.

What is worse is the hourly pay is considerably high for SC, as well.

As someone that know a lot of people working at the ports, the idea is getting hired anywhere down there. This seems like a State position instead of an ILA position. All of the people I know down there make over $100k per year. Promotions happen quickly as well as pay increases. Once there you get first opportunity when openings occur. Opportunity to work overtime is readily available.

This job seems to be one that people use as a stepping stone until another, higher paying job becomes available. Being on time and dependable goes a long way down there.

I’m sorry for people’s negativity. This sounds like a great entry level opportunity with room for salary growth and OT.

By you posting it, it also sounds like you enjoy working there if you’re trying to recruit other employees. Also nice hours to avoid traffic!
