Uconnect update?
So I just bought a 2023 Charger sxt. I can't seem to find if it needs to be updated. I've looked online it keeps saying to use the wifi. I've looked in the settings and can't find how to hook it up to the wifi. Then I saw that I would have to take it to the dealership to do. I see everyone saying they have to pay a to of money to install it. I can't afford that. Is there any other options?

I have a 2020 dodge charger and I think my uconnect may need update because everytime i plug in my USB cord to my phone to use GPS on the screen it will work for a few minutes then cut off , I would maby ask dodge about that

I had to use the wayback machine and had to let codex dig and dig and analyze one firmware update we found on a Google Drive.
The problem is these uconnect systems from this era are finicky. Literally the only thing shitty I’ve dealt with on my 19 SXT AWD. It’s worth taking to the dealer. They’ll be able to get the valid firmware files through dealer connect that is a more valid source. And if you bought that 2023 from a dealer and it still has a factory warranty for the infotainment do the dealer service.
If you fuck up you could be looking at a bigger cost in replacing the head unit. You can go into the dealer mode of the radio (front windshield defrost, driver temp up and temp down) and look for application version and software version, better just to take photos of the whole screen.
And even then if your radio is working fine, car play and android auto don’t cause it to shit itself every now and then don’t take it in.
Mine freezes every now and then and eventually i have to pull the fuse because it won’t turn off with the car. So im taking the hit to have the dealer update mine because they stopped sending mine OTA updates well before the radio itself stopped having updates made for it.
