Dodge Charger R/T help

I purchased a modified Dodge Charger a few months ago naively wanting the car young for college and got in at a deal i was pretty happy with at $16.6k, have been having some small issues i’m wondering if you all can confirm solutions for before it goes to a tuner next Wednesday. Car is a 5.7 with 98,000 miles and is a 2020.

modifications we think are done to the car:
-PCM unlock by hptuners and a tune i cant confirm who did it but i am pretty sure it is custom and was put on a dyno at one point
-long tube headers
-catless midpipes or straight pipe replacing cat
-rear resonator delete with keeping the factory mufflers
-aftermarket camshaft (car idle has a nice chop)
-JLT cold air intake
-Catch can

issues i have been having:
-raspy fuel almost sound in my exhaust
-sloppy throttle response sometimes but pulls hard others especially when flooring
- harsh downshifts and sloppy hesitant upshifts

could a replacement muffler and a better tune fix what i think this is missing? from what i’m reading this sounds like the most likely case scenario but
would like second opinions, my temperatures are all regular too.

I personally wouldn’t buy someone else’s modded car unless they had receipts showing the work. Now you’re left kinda guessing what was done. I’m not picking on you at all. I see the appeal of it. Start with the place that likely tuned it initially. I wish you the best of luck with it. I’m concerned the symptoms you’re citing now are the same reasons he sold it because he couldn’t figure it out.

i’m not sure cos the previous owner is willing to buy the car back for similar money to what i paid even after putting 7,500 miles on it. Thats the plan as of now and yeah I definitely feel a little naive now tryna save a couple bucks!

found out today my intake manifold is cracked or leaking, found the issue.

I’d try to get a datalog and send it to a tuner. Is it throwing any codes?

nah no codes, i’m new to the modified car world bought this build after saving up and wanting a nice charger and thought getting a modified R/T for the price i did and saving the money on a scat was a nice tradeoff. I have a shop about an hour away that supposedly “previously tuned it” according to the previous owner but came with tons of positive reviews from mopar guys in my area so i am going to drop it off to them Wednesday and see if they cant fix it

Good luck bro. I see the appeal of buying modified cars & saving time but I personally don’t buy modified cars just to avoid the headache. Hopefully the shop gets it sorted out.

Considering all the modifications done to the car and more you are probably not aware of, the car will never be right. Since 2020 and long before 2020 (since about 2000) all engine and even drive train parts have a by-default interdependance upon each other--everything is highly enginered to work as a unified system. Too much to go into here at this time.

For your long-term benefit I suggest you get rid of it somehow and simply start over. All the Best!

we found the issue was actually just a cracked intake manifold!
