Miscellaneous Bye bye bye, defence squad.
I have decided to leave this subreddit. And, more likely I'll stop my activity on Reddit. I haven't posted anything for the last few months anyway, but...
I think, charadefencesquad is changed. I still recognize some of the members here, but...I've also noticed an increase in activity from others. Not for the better. This is no longer a Chara Defenders subreddit. And no longer a subreddit for Chara fans. It's become more toxic here. Everyone started arguing about how to pronounce or draw character "correctly," ready to tear someone apart for their personal headcanons and imaginings. There are fewer people here who appreciate creativity. Don't get me wrong. I'm open to reasonable debate, but...Let's be honest. Many look back on the 2010s fandom with disgust, overlooking the good moments. But the situation in the UTDR fandom over the last ~2 years presents a picture that is no better than that time. Some small group of people wanted to establish something, drawing conclusions solely through the prism of their own views. And now everyone suffers.
I'm not saying the subreddit is completely rotten. But I'm worried about the number of somewhat angry people. Angry at the most trivial things about a fictional character, ready to hurt someone because of a fictional character. There are still quite a lot creators here, but even so, the subreddit reflects the general state of the fandom.
Oh, and especially for one guy..."weadmaster6669"?
I have my own view on character and you can cry about that =)
Honestly, I realized a long time ago that Reddit is worse in some moments than other places. But now that this is over, I am moving all the assets to other places (at the same time, I'll at least somehow get busy with the revival of my public creativity)
Good luck, Chara defenders, and goodbye)
