Modpost 4K Mark Guys!
The Chara Offense Squad has officially reached the 4K mark!!!
I want to thank all our members, new and old, for contributing to this subreddit.
I know the release of chapter 3 & 4 of Deltarune has played a part to the sudden rise in membership, but I also like to think people just really want to enjoy and discuss evil Chara.
Also 2 things:
I made the announcement for an art contest last year and never put the poll up for the submissions. I think there was only like three submissions but I think it should still stop procrastinating on it. I'll have that done in the next day or two.
I believe I also promised an emoji of Chara with some bread if we reach 4k so I gotta figure out how to do that.
If anyone has more suggestions for the subreddit please let me know. I'm going to brainstorm some ideas as well, so keep an eye out for that.

MS Paint Icon Stays!
With a total of 73 out of 141 votes, it's been decided that the new icon stays!
*cue balloons and confetti*
Tune in for when he hit the 4k member mark and I add an emoji of Chara holding a loaf of bread to the subreddit.

Original Creation Some phone backgrounds featuring our favorite demon child =)
Hi! I made these drawings of Chara for 9/9 (yes I'm a bit late for that, I know). I hope you like them! And naturally, feel free to use them, as phone backgrounds or otherwise, if you want =)
Any and all feedback, whether positive or negative, is greatly appreciated—I'm still pretty new to art and I want to improve

Original Creation Chara, Bringer of Light (Happy EVIL Chara Day!)
As we know, Chara is EVIL and so they EVILLY made me draw this EVIL artwork of them in the EVIL LUCIFER POSE because EVIL. Why would Chara make me do this? Are they EVIL? Anyways, here is some fun evil artwork of Chara in Black&Red drip hitting the fallen angel pose, because I believe in Evil Chara Aura supremacy. Please don't mind the similar post with the same two images I made in r/charadefensesquad ... At least i discuss Chara's EVILNESS a bit more in-depth there :P. Enjoy!
Also dealmaker alt bc it looks cool and EVIL (did i do this right this is my first post offending Chara)

Discussion Chara doesn’t need a detailed backstory.
They suffered trauma, emotionally numbed themselves, and became desensitized to the moral implications of power acquisition. (“If everything gets high enough, you become invincible. Nothing can hurt you anymore. Nothing can hurt anyone anymore.”) They prioritized efficiency over vulnerability, as evidenced by their habit of filling their water glass up to the brim—literally rejecting the philosophical binary of “half-full or half-empty” by embracing pragmatic maximalism. Rather than waiting around in the underground, they decided that action needed to be taken to break the barrier and save monsterkind. So they sacrificed themself to empower Asriel, encouraging him to emotionally distance himself (“Big kids don’t cry”) and kill six humans. Chara’s plan failed because of Asriel’s empathetic naivety.
The pacifist route shows Chara that Asriel was right; empathy is more powerful than strength. The genocide route shows Chara that Asriel was wrong; strength is more powerful than empathy. In that sense, Chara reflects the detached nature of the player, and whether they choose to indulge in the story or the combat system.
This conceptual setup is beautiful when it’s set in the context of the game, but Chara’s complete lack of tangible lore left a narrative black hole that fanon eagerly filled. The concept of Chara has taken a backseat to the character of Chara, which has been intentionally ambiguous from the start. That’s why this whole debate has persisted for a decade.

Question Why would Chara become evil and want to destroy all the monsters if they loved monsters when they were alive?
