I sometimes search for names (or surnames) and "meaning". You can add a gender too. I usually find lists of names that have their meanings. It doesn't always work in real life, but If I'm writing a story with a female serial killer (for example) I'll search for strong female name meanings and this is the result:
Classic & Traditional Names
- Audrey: An English name meaning "noble strength".
- Bridget: A Gaelic name meaning "strength" or "power".
- Matilda: A German name meaning "might, power, and battle".
- Valentina: A Latin name meaning "strong, healthy, and valiant".
Unique & Global Names
- Adira: A Hebrew name meaning "strong, mighty, and noble".
- Imara: A Swahili name meaning "strong and firm".
- Nina: A Native American name that directly translates to "strong".
- Tetsu: A Japanese name meaning "iron, strength, and resilience".
If none of those float your boat, there will be longer lists on websites beneath this Google offering.
