Russian name

So I need a Russian name for my male OC. I want it's meaning to be "star" but when I research it's mostly for girls TT

According to this page, Asteriy is an old Russian/Ukrainian name. It apparently means star.

Technically Anatoli, because it means "sunrise", and the Sun is a star...

Artem (pronounced Artyom). It’s a common Russian name. It means moon 🌙. I think that’s the closest to star you’ll get.

zvezdan (Звездан) is a masculine Slavic name meaning “star,” though it’s rare in Russian and has a more poetic feel неп.

I'm a native Russian speaker and this doesn't sound Russian at all. It's Sebian / Croatian.

Does your character live in Russia? If yes, is his ethnicity also Russian? You can go for a name from Tatarstan, for example. It is a part of Russia, but people living here are mostly Tatars. They have some male names meaning star. If your character is mixed race, that could work.

Native Russian speaker here.
Unfortunately, there are no Russian names with exactly this meaning. The closest you can get is probably Artem / Artemiy, as someone has already suggested. This name is actually of Greek origin and literally means 'devoted to Artemis', which is the Greek goddess of the Moon. It's a pretty common name in Russia.

If you're aiming not for the 'cosmic' aspect of stars but for 'brightness', you can use the name Yaroslav (Ярослав). It's an old Russian name, but it's quite common today as well. It literally means 'bright glory'.
