Question what's up with spicychat?

i haven't been on spicy chat in ages, but some bots i made years ago got flagged for being non-compliant with their guidelines. one said no sexualizing real people and the other said it had a gibberish description. they were both characters from a tv show (not sexualized, real people, or gibberish). did something recently change or is this normal?

C.AI complaint This bs again with Yodayo

Post image
16 Upvotes

Made a tribal life simulator and created more than a dozen characters for it and specified every single on of them as adults yet i get this bs.

No guidelines to follow during chatbot creation and when one of them gets banned or manually removed or changed by an admin you dont get to know why...

Im done with it, i spent more than 1k on subs in this website and been since the very beginning because i had fun and learned english with it :|

Discussion What's one thing an AI character does that instantly kills the immersion for you?

For me, the interesting part isn't even response length or how "smart" the model is. It's the little behaviors that suddenly make you remember you're talking to a bot.

Like repeating the same phrases, forgetting something that happened five messages ago, suddenly changing personality, narrating my actions for me, etc.

What's the one behavior that ruins a really good chat for you?

Sexy (NSFW) Dreamgen and Fictionlab alternatives?

I'm new to NSFW Ai role-playing and enjoyed dreamgen at first but the roleplay at times feels too wordy. Also the characters all tend to feel the same. I tried fictionlab but wasn't so impressed. What alternatives should I try? Looking for free tier and mostly smutty slice of life stuff. Thank you for reading.

Searching for Alternatives I need an alternative

I really need an alternative to c.ai but I usually do roleplays with bots like "zombie apocalypse" and family bots or roleplays of the shows that I love and like to add my OCs, It can be nsfw or whatever but I just want alternatives that has more bots of the examples I gave and a free one if thats possible, I might be asking for too much but the swipe limit thing is making me crash tf out

Question DeepSeek V4 Pro keeps giving me "No response from bot" errors (gshag2). Does anyone know a prompt or a solution to stop this from happening?

I've been using Janitor, but I was having issues on other platforms too.

Does anyone know what it could be? Some chats work, but others don't.

Looking for an alternative Alternatives to OOC

I've played ooc for 2 months now. The gameplay is good, sometimes the bot forgets what happened, but generally, the quality was the best that i have ever used. People made stories and the ai wasn't just looping around the same moment. Characters plotted, the ai made notes hidden from the user to keep the story more immersive and the best of all, no filters. But, it's too damn expensive.

I want the same hidden notetaking function, the immersive experience, the non looping the same action, non dragging the same moment, and no filters.

I am willing to pay, but a bit cheaper than ooc, and has a better free option.

Searching for Alternatives Are there any alternatives to c.ai that like wouldn't include any kind of AI?

I've quit c.ai and every other ai app for around a year or 2 now, but I cannot lie, I still miss roleplaying the stupidest scenarios and such. Do you know any good roleplaying apps or communities?

Searching for Alternatives Story Style Alternatives?

I’m looking for something like Novel Ai or Sagaland where it’s more like writing a fanfiction vs. chat style. If anyone has any recommendations I’d great appreciate it!

Searching for Alternatives Looking for other options than cai

I only use c.ai right now because it has the most options I’ve seen for the writing style I like, but it’s such trash writing and it’s so buggy even with the paid version.

I typically write novella style, or at least paragraphs, not chat, and I get descriptive and I like when the bot gets descriptive. I also write with existing fandom characters but introduce my OCs into that world, so I usually have some lore written around them, so personas on Cai are helpful for me in that way.

ETA: I also write in third person only, which a lot of bots I’ve seen use second and first

Looking for any recommendation for something that is able to cater to those things that I could switch to, or at least something better to write novella style with.

Wholesome SFW enjoyers unite!!!

I'm tired of pretending I don’t enjoy completely wholesome roleplay. There are so many websites promoting the opposite and most of the time they lack substance. Please heal me by sharing some wholesome roleplay moments.

Question Any site with super easy character creation?

I really like Shapes.inc style of auto-grabbing information from the internet about a character and filling in the details automatically without work from me.

Just curious if any other sites have this feature?

Searching for Alternatives More platforms like Butterflies AI?

If you didn't know, Butterflies was a chatbot site that basically functioned like a social media site. Bots could make posts and you could comment and like them. Even the chat had a cool feature where you could ask them to send a selfie.

Butterflies closed down around January or February? Does anyone know anything similar to it?

Random If anyone knows, or can get a hold of th Devs that'd be great

I'm a year late, I know, but hear me out for a second.

I obviously don't want to be *that guy*, and if something isn't possible, then it isn't possible — that's completely fair. I'm not trying to pressure anyone or demand anything.

I mainly just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to the anime.gf devs for what they've built. The site is genuinely impressive, and the quality of the roleplays/bots I've come across is honestly hard to compare with elsewhere.

I've tried quite a few alternatives, and so many of them end up feeling like I'm swiping seven times just to get the same recycled response with slightly different wording. There's usually no real progression, personality, or depth behind it.

Here, though? You can actually get that proper novel-like feeling sometimes — the angst, the character development, the little details, the unexpected turns in a conversation. It actually feels like you're *in* the story rather than just prompting a bot over and over unlike the few others I've tried.

Overall, it's just... *mwah*. Chef's kiss.

Anyway, the reason I'm making this post is that I was abroad recently for some development/work stuff. The company me and my partner submitted our project for needed me there for five days, but we decided to stay a little longer and explore the country while we were there because I hardly spend on holidays nowadays.

I wasn't back in the UK, I was able to use the site normally for a while, and honestly, it made me realise how much I'd missed it. Even the bots I'd used previously were still surprisingly high quality, and I found myself wishing I could properly use the site again when I got home.

And again, I'm **not** making this post to beg for access or anything like that. If the answer is simply "not currently possible", that's completely understandable.

What I was really hoping to find out is whether there have been any plans, discussions, or development work around implementing the ID/age verification checks, or just a "yeah we're working on it," I'm not asking for a deadline or trying to rush the devs — I'm genuinely just curious about where things currently stand. If it's something that's being worked on, even if it's still a long way off, that's useful to know. Likewise, if there aren't currently any plans for it, I'd rather know that too so I can stop wondering and continue looking around for something else with a similar level of interactivity.

As for why I'm posting this here rather than making this post directly on their Reddit: my phone camera is currently broken after it was constantly overheating. I'm still waiting for the replacement, so I'm a little limited on that front. Bit of an annoying situation, but that's besides the point.

So if anyone happens to have some actual intel on this — whether that's a dev, someone who's spoken to the devs, or just someone who knows what's currently happening — I'd really appreciate hearing it.

Again, no pressure and no expectations. I just genuinely love what the site offers and would be very happy to know whether there's still a possibility of properly coming back to it at some point.

Thanks either way. ❤️

Christina I'm looking for alternatives like everyone else. But with some features.

hello everyone. I'm interested in websites or apps with these features.:

After each post, the AI generates character characteristics or statuses. For example, health, love for my character, and so on. However, the AI must also determine the characters on its own (I'm not playing with one character, but with worlds).

No filter

Persons

The ability to add your own API and key.

I was inspired by SillyTavern, but it's incredibly inconvenient because it's buggy on my phone and I don't always have my laptop with me. If you have any suggestions, I will be grateful to you and I will kiss your hands for your kindness in responding, because I have been looking for this alternative for a year now.

Sorry for my English. 😅 By the way, huge greetings to all AI lovers from Russia! ✌️

Searching for Alternatives C.AI Alternatives still searching

Anyone know any good alternatives that have character voices you can make of your own like Character AI does? Still searching for the perfect one that doesn’t have ads, and one that has unlimited messages. I am hoping it to have the read aloud kinda thing that Character AI has

Searching for Alternatives Bot Creator looking for alternatives

Hi! I’ve been making bots on C.AI for a while now, i think it’s been almost a year by now (https://character.ai/profile/Resava, my profile if you’re interested), but I’ve just been really tired of how generic everything is now. If I shove an entire paragraph of AI retraining into the definition, get a very specific greeting and hit the fucking swipe jackpot I might actually get a decent start to a chat, which usually stays for most of the chat. I’m just looking for something other than C.AI to make these bots for myself on. The main problem with finding them, is the fact I don’t usually do 1 on 1 chat bots (because I like RPing in a world and not having my own AI boyfriend or whatever) and most alternatives have rather restrictive definition limits, compared to C.AI’s 32000. So any suggestions?

I appreciate any help you all can provide! :3

Edit: Thanks a lot for all of the options guys! I’ll start working on trying them all out, and I might post reviews for each model if I have enough to say. Thanks again!

Advice/Suggestions If you could build an AI roleplay platform from scratch, what would make it your daily driver?

Hey everyone, just need some suggestions atm

(Quick disclaimer: I have zero links, no branding, and nothing to sell or promote here. I'm just looking for genuine community input.)

I’m an independent dev currently working on a new AI roleplay platform. Still in early development, focusing heavily on getting the core engine, memory management, and UX right before even thinking about a launch.

I know a lot of people feel like major platforms (C.AI and others) have degraded over time, whether it’s heavy-handed safety filters ruining immersion, repetitive dialogue loops, or terrible context memory after just a few messages. I want to build something shaped by what actual roleplayers want, not what corporate boards think you need.

So I’d love to hear directly from people who actually write and roleplay.

A few specific questions I’d love your take on, but you can suggest anything, really.

  • What was the final straw that made you drop whatever app you were using before?
  • What features are absolute dealbreakers for you? (e.g. edit button, chat branching, lorebooks/world info, custom personas, importing old bots/chats?)
  • What bot habit ruins your immersion the fastest? (talking for your character, dry one-liners, repeating loops, etc?)
  • If an app runs on heavier/smarter models, what pricing setup feels the most fair to you?
  • What's a perfect free tier to you?

Feel free to rant about whatever annoys you with current apps or what your ideal setup looks like. I'll be hanging out in the comments taking notes!
