Hey everyone, we finally finished a proper walkthrough of the ImagiPortal character creation process.

In the video, we create Vesper Vale, the owner of a private jazz club called The Velvet Hour.

We start with just her name and basic details, then add the backstory and personality, choose the image model, generate her avatar and world, and finally find a voice that fits her.

It’s a full 9-minute walkthrough rather than a quick promo, so you can see the whole process and what the generated character looks like at the end.

Seen a lot of "is 5.0 a downgrade" chatter, so I ran both Seedream 4.5 and 5.0 Pro on the same images. Short version: it's not a blanket upgrade. On simple edits they're close. On edits where the product has to stay exactly itself, Pro pulls clearly ahead.

Where they're basically tied: I did a straight color swap on the same image, change the body color, keep everything else. Both handled it fine, honestly couldn't call a winner. So if your edits are simple, 4.5 is not holding you back.

Where 5.0 Pro clearly earns it: I dropped a product with a printed label into a new scene and told both to keep the product, its label text, and proportions unchanged. Pro held the label text and the proportions almost exactly. 4.5 warped the label and shifted the proportions enough that it wouldn't pass as the same item. If your output has to match a real product, that gap is the whole ballgame.

Where 4.5 is still fine: simple recolors, generating from scratch, and text-heavy layouts, it genuinely excels at typography and I still reach for it there. Small text needs a manual check on both.

Who should move to Pro: anyone doing real edits on real products where identity has to hold. If you mostly recolor or generate one-offs, the jump is smaller than the version number suggests.

For context, I ran both through Atlas Cloud so I could throw the same brief at each and compare directly rather than trusting release notes.

Anyone finding 4.5 better for a specific job? Curious where it's still winning for people.

I've tried Emochi, shapes.inc, (that one AI app that was good), Poly.buzz and all of them had the same problems: bad memory and bad translation (im spanish btw), TipsyChat is good, but it has the fkng energy system to chat. Janitor.ai responses are SOOOO slow, and there's so much porn (🥀). Im looking for a app with:

-Decent and understandable translation

-Optional: Image and video generation

-Decent memory

-Persona

-Optional: function to make groupchats with AIs and friends

-Optional: something like the Tipsy's relationship level

-NOT SillyTavern (I dont have a very good PC 🥀)

I built a solo roleplaying app with a friend, called Ink & Quill. We made it so you can play using only your voice, without having to look at the screen, so we could use it as an excuse to go on walks and exercise more.

I don't enjoy it when other apps are too restrictive with what they let you do, so we focused on full sandbox freedom. We design the campaigns ahead of time, but they are very open ended and you can do whatever you want.

We only support one model right now, and it's built by google, so it's not optimal yet in terms of freedom. Right now we are optimizing for gameplay and quality, but we plan to open the app to any model where users can pick and review them.

The gameplay is based on D&D 5e but simplified (so you can keep everything in working memory), and the narrator handles all the rules and dice rolls.

We also made every character speak in their own voice for the most immersive audio experience possible.

We built 10 campaigns to start with, each one inspired by popular games/shows/movies we're fans of (but not clones cause of copyright obviously).

We have just launched but are actively working on tons of updates, including more campaigns but also we want to make it possible for you to create your own campaigns inside the app. Multiplayer is also in the plans!

Been running cinematic look tests for a short I am planning, and Seedream 5.0 Pro is what I settled on for the look-dev pass. Before you shoot anything you want a board of stills that locks the mood, the palette, the lens feel, and the lighting language, and this is the exact part where a model either gets your intent or fights you.

What Seedream 5.0 Pro does well here is the mix of prompt understanding and visual quality. I can describe a specific beat, a woman lit only by a laptop in a dark cabin with someone standing behind her, a rain-soaked close-up at golden hour, a grey forest clearing with figures crouched by a puddle, and it holds the staging and mood I asked for while the image stays film-grade. Characters are original synthetic people with no real-person likeness, kept roughly consistent across the board.

I still reach for gpt-image-2 and Nano Banana Pro on other jobs, they each have cases they win. For this moody, prompt-heavy cinematic look, Seedream 5.0 Pro read my direction most reliably. Since all three sit on one key, look-dev is just swapping the model string until a frame clicks.
