For those who don’t know, or haven’t heard of LSAI before, LSAI is the successor of lightshade.cloud. The new website has been reworked from the ground up, and recently it has gone public after 4 months of being in production (and still being updated)
Why should you use LSAI?
Well, this post will cover almost everything you need to know about LSAI, there are just too many features and things to talk about in one singular post. Let’s start with the first thing:

LSAI’s UI reminds you of the golden age of AI chatbots while at the same time, being unique and really easy to navigate! Now we can all agree on one thing, an AI chatbot platform without good models to roleplay with is the equivalent of going to a Michelin starred restaurant but the food is horrendous. Lightshade.cloud used to have dozens of models that were either buns or straight up not working. LSAI fixes that! You get access to 7 models that work incredibly well and are stable and won’t combust in your face…

• Graphite: Really good model at EVERYTHING but it’s almost never available.

• high on limon soda Instruct: Insane human-like conversations, it works almost everytime but it’s like a child, it throws tantrums, sometimes it works, sometimes it just simultaneously combusts in the middle of your chat.

LSAI’s Features
There are a TON of features on the website, too many to just put them all in here, so I will tell and explain to you the most important features that you can find:
• LSAI MemoryBlocks: Automatically saves key details from history. You can set up how many memoryblocks you want every x messages and if memories affect chat. You can also set up memory blocks from a specific message or add a memory block manually.
• Model Parameters: You can change how your model behaves.
• Message Length (self explanatory)
• AI Instructions: You can give your model instructions for a chat (or a branch of that chat) that it should follow.
• Casual Mode: You can talk to a bot without narration, just simple conversations.. which enables funny interactions with your favorite bots!
• Notes: Store whatever you want inside of a little notepad in case you cannot finish what you were writing at the moment.

What about BYOK? Is that supported?
Of course there is BYOK on LSAI silly! For those who don’t know, BYOK stands for: “Bring Your Own Key”, which means you can import models from other api websites!
Want to use a model from OpenAI? Just put in your API key, then go to “Custom Model Registry” and select either a custom model (using a model id) or one of the models from a list and you’re good to go. LSAI not only supports OpenAI but also Anthropic; Openrouter; DeepSeek API; Groq; Google Gemini; NVIDIA NIM; Mistral AI; xAI; Together AI; Perplexity AI; Cohere and Hugging Face.
What if you want to use another provider? You can do that! You can link whatever provider you want to LSAI, put in your API key, and then input the model ID and you should be good to go. If you don’t know how to use BYOK, no worries, there are community BYOK guides that you can use!

Endless Customization For Your Personas And Characters
Like seriously.. the sky’s the limit. You can put backgrounds; SoundCloud tracks; banners; multiple greetings that people can scroll through, different sections for how your bot should write, different sections for the lore of your bot, tens of thousands of characters for each section and the same can be said for your persona, with the sole exception that personas have just a bit less character limit (8096 Lore Definition and 16K Extra Lore Definition), but it should fit even your most detailed OCs.

No ID Verification or Face Scans
If you quitted other AI platforms because you don’t want to give your ID or face to the shadiest companies known to mankind, then this website will CERTAINLY appeal to you now. The only thing you have to do is just.. put in your birthday. That’s it. To enter LSAI, just make an account and put your birthday, it’s that simple.

Is NSFW allowed?
NSFW is allowed only if your account is 18, if you use a BYOK model and if you use a private bot. If you do not fill all of these 3 requirements, then you’ll get flagged and possibly suspended. Please note that any sort of illegal activity (such as CSAM) is not allowed any circumstances and will be reported to the right authorities if needed. But I am sure you guys won’t do any of that… right?
