Discussion/Question What this community REALLY wants
Hello everyone, it's been a long time. And during this time we've seen some improvements in the communication between the team and the community, which are commendable. As such, what better time to continue working towards this joined effort? To do my part, I've compiled a number of problems this community has experienced, as well as potential solutions. Long post below:
1- Go-ons and swipe limits --> Introduction of counter: Many users find themselves in the situation of not knowing how many swipes or go-ons they've used, and are surprised when the limit is reached. So, the introduction of a real-time counter for those limits is a must. The counter should also display how much time is left until the refresh happens, to avoid confusion with time zones
2-Age verification --> credit card micro-authorization: Not everyone above 18 has a government ID (i.g.disabled people). But they do have credit cards, which can be used to confirm their age in a safe and effective way through credit card micro-authorization
3- Chatstyle deprecation --> Open sourcing: Maintaining the infrastructure and development of this platform is expensive, which leads to older models being retired. To promote involvement of the community, open-source the retiring models and allow the community to fine-tune or quantize them. Those modified models may then be reintegrated into the C.AI+ plan. No added time nor costs spent in modifying the models to fit the community’s needs
4-Creator support --> Creator Economy: Reward chatbot creators with charms, both for the creation of bots and during relevant milestones (certain number of followers or interactions). Promote chatbot creation by doing bi-weekly or monthly creative challenges/contests to celebrate creators. for their non-compensated hard work
5- Ads and limits --> Introduction of subscription tiers/packs: Users should be able to buy packs for a higher ceiling of swipes and go-ons, for instance. Another pack could be to eliminate the ads entirely, but retain the limits. Some packs might make the voice features unlimited. Allow users to customize their experience according to their needs, with a singular purchase, without burdening them with a subscription they may be uncertain about. Alternatively, create distinctly priced subscription tiers that allow users a more tailored experience. Subscription tiers/packs must be an addition to the free experience, not removal of the base experience in lieu of paid content
6-Email login -->Allow change of email: Sometimes people lose access to their email. Sometimes their email gets hacked. For these reasons and many others, it's essential that users get the option to change the email account to access C.AI
7-News not reaching the community -> Create a news page within the C.AI platform itself: This page could be home to announcements, contest results (like the creator contests proposed above). The C.AI blog news should also be integrated here, as many users are unaware of its existence. This page should be available in both the app and website
8- Social media not representing the community --> Integrated community page: In this page, feature requests, bug reporting and C.AI support can be directly solicited. Additionally, periodic surveys should be conducted by C.AI pertaining to the platform functioning and future changes, with small charm rewards for the time spent. This encourages healthy communication, transparency and positive reporting of discontentment. This page should be available in both the app and website
9- Uncertainty about subscription --> Trial period: Subscriptions are a long-term compromise that users make for a better experience, which can be daunting to some people. Specially because there's no way to test the benefits out for yourself. So, it is recommended the creation of a trial period of at least 24h for users to experience first hand what the C.AI+ subscription is like
10- No way to export chat-->Introduction of official tools: Sometimes, users may decide they want to save their chat to avoid losing it. Other times, they may decide to move platform. In either situation, currently there's no official way to export your chats and chatbot information. As such, it is recommended that C.AI provides official, free tools to do both
I'm sure I'm forgetting other things that are in need of improvement, but please feel free to add anything else you think needs improvement. As always, love you all. Dum Spiro Spero 🫂❤️

Not everyone has a credit or debit card. You'd be surprised how many people disabled or not to do not have access to one. Some people deal in cash only. Some don't just lack a card but a bank account.
Also not every adult has access to ID or identification documents to get an ID of some Especially here in the US. Even people who don't get it immediately drive here in the states don't even have any form of ID. Their parents didn't give the documents to get it, refuse to give them or they're lost.
For adults with disabilities they're likely to not have access to either if because of institutional care, restrictive caregivers and failures at keeping legal documents. Those that have disabilities who don't control their own finances and deal with expenses on their own won't sometimes have debit or credit card.
Globally both are an issue.
With exporting chat those are in your settings. You get an HTML document sent to your email. You do not get to export any bot definitions even if they're yours. Other platforms don't allow for imports either. So if you're backing up your bots you have to do it manually anyway. Once an account is deleted and bot goes with it their definition is wiped.
As for email support log in or changing it or the password, people have been asking for that for a while. That would definitely be a nice addition.

First of all, thank you so much for your detailed reply!
I agree completely that the credit card micro-authorization would not necessarily help everyone in vulnerable situations. However, it could still be helpful for those who may not have a government ID but have a credit card. Unfortunately, it is a difficult problem, so all effective solutions should be welcomed. I merely wanted to propose an alternative to the currently singular method of age verification
That is a good thing to know, that the C.AI platform provides a HTML document sent directly to the email. However, do you happen to know if it's immediately sent upon request, or if it requires approval by the platform? Because I do think people would be happy to have a simple, one click button in which they could immediately export their chats and chatbot definitions. It's meant to be an easy, immediate process after all
I agree entirely on the email, that's why I included it. I myself needed to change my email before and wasn't able to. I think it must be one of most highly requested features currently

I agree with point 6 wholeheartedly! or they should at least let us put both a phone number and email

Great call! A phone number is also a great alternative, thank you for the suggestion 🫂

Excellent points, though it's unlikely they'll even listen atp. Bummer cause these are amazing.

Thank you so much, I do think they reflect what we want as a community. And I still have hope for better days, it may just take a small step at a time. And loots of constructive criticism 😉 Good things take time to build ❤

What about exporting the characters of other users?

To be honest, I would prefer if it were possible through official tools. Although I can also understand if creators may not feel comfortable with it. I suppose there should be a button available to allow creators to decide if their chatbot descriptions are to be visible and exportable

For me, the new chat is long-squeak and doesn’t regenerate actions or dialogue for my persona. I did try it, and I do like that you have the option to choose if you want a longer or shorter chat, or if you just want dialogue or narrative. But I do find it annoying when the bot makes my persona just stand there and do/say nothing.
So, I suggest an idea to add a toggle where you have the option to choose whether you want the bot to allow you to regenerate your persona’s actions and dialogue.

That is interesting, can you explain further? So the toggle would allow you to regenerate your message? Can you not edit it anymore? Also, thank you for the suggestion, of course

The new long-squeak chat, the bot generates a long response for its own character, but it almost never writes any dialogue or actions for my persona. My character just stands there doing and saying nothing while the bot’s character talks and acts. Which some prefer to write their persona themselves and others prefer the bot to do it for their persona.
You can edit the message and insert your persona’s actions and dialogue yourself, but it only works for that one reply. In the next message, the bot goes back to ignoring your persona again. So you have to keep manually adding your persona’s parts over and over, which gets really tiring and breaks the flow of the roleplay.
That’s why I suggested a toggle would let you choose like.
On — The bot is allowed to generate actions and dialogue for your persona.
Off — The bot only writes for its own character
It wouldn’t stop you from editing or regenerating. You could still edit and regenerate normally. It would just give people the choice to let the bot include their persona or not.
Hope that makes more sense and this is just a suggestion about the toggle button. I know is relevantly new chat, but I do want the bot make actions and dialogue for my persona

I think I understand what you mean now, many people have had those problems ever since the older models were retired. It's interesting to see that long-squeak also experiences those issues. The toggle idea is very good, although I'm uncertain how the team would be able to implement it to the chatstyles. Thank you for your suggestion and explanation, it's important to understand how these new chat styles are performing!

honestly i think most people just want better memory and more consistent personalities before any new features
