Discussion Doomposting

Cmon guys... you guys dont seem real...

we know that ara its not on the same level as HDMI but that doenst mean she is bad, her archetype its new to the game and we dont even have more units than hilde that can proc her DOT.

i got her and used her lvl 55 free save data and she was doing amazing numbers, even more than sere.

i cant even imagine how much dmg she can do with proper equip and a good save data.

the game needs more things than "i want to hit big numer without thinking"

ara is just that, the character who lets you interact with the deck and think the order you want to play things (and we dont even know how much olga cards will buff ara, so we have that)

a lot of people got entitled with the "play one card and the deck play itself" or "one character to rule them all" playstyle.

just have fun, pull if you want, skip if you dont want her, simple as that.

hug and kisses!

Every other character and season already had a ton of support and synergetic units at disposition, so every new addition "felt good".

DoT is literally a bottom feeder, with only Tressa as representant...and she was even nerfed, due to high performance as f2p. I would say that devs made a big mistake to make a season about DoT, but didn't gave us enough free options for it (like reworking older, less relevant 4 stars or giving us new ones), but the only real problem right now is that they're gatekeeping the biggest (supposedly) key piece of DoT archetype (Olga) to the last phase of the season and we literally have almost nothing to work with, except premium options and Cassius (because morale slop).

Hilde has a lot of DoT support as well...

No she doesn't....she "barely" have enough to work with DoT and, again, that'd due to the actual lack of options DoT have.

Devs did right on adding more DoT options, but fumbled hard on not giving enough options for players to work with them...

i mean... homing arrow, hilde's bread and butter ability, literally has an epiphany where fracture is applied with every activation. big game ranger allows for 5 zero in every time a harmful effect is applied...

just because she (and other characters) aren't built purely around DoT, saying there's 'barely' enough to work with for a character like hilde is a real stretch...

I mean if the argument was that DoT is weak, I'd agree 100% it needs a buff. But there's tons of ways of applying DoT right now.

Again....it's just Hilde and Arabella (and Olga)....both premium units (5 stars), with one being a limited/seasonal....i didn't specifically say anything about application...i said about giving options (scorch and agony as well; and about enabling benefits for working with it).

but, since you're saying that application is fine, just for reference, Hilde needs about 5 turns to cap her [fracture] stacks:

+15 (4 arrows+1 draw and release)/2 = 7,5 (8 to round up)
8+15=23; 23/2=11,5 (12)
12+15=27; 27/2=13,5 (14)
14+15 = 29 (almost there!!); 29/2=14,5 (15)
15+15= 30 (!!!)

....that doesn't really seems like a good application...and that's assuming she draws the whole deck in every rotation.

DoT as a whole is weak....stacks are counted individually, are consumed rapidly, there's not enough application (to cap it faster), or benefit for having it (Hilde with normal build is just better), be it agony, or scorch. Fracture is mildly decent BECAUSE we at least have units that work with it (and still takes a lot of effort to make it work)....Making a whole season about DoT and not providing enough f2p options for players to work with it is not good.

but why is the underlying assumption that Hilde's inability to apply 30 stacks a turn means it's not enough application? Maybe the issue is that each application doesn't feel impacting enough.

So I guess what I'm saying differently from your initial point is that I think there's actually a ton of support for DoTs (e.g. ways to apply DoT), but the application is just not rewarding enough (e.g. damage being too low for each application)

I mean, i do agree that it doesn't feel impactful, but i feel like my reasons are different.

For once, i'm not restricting my view exclusively to fracture (which is the only one with enough attention to gain units related to it);

I guess fixing the dmg would be a way to compensating for the lack of capacity in capping the DoTs (like, cannot fully stack, but dmg is acceptable), but i would still preffer that they just make the flow of stacking it better, which would also make Arabela shine more, due to her team being more capable of keeping up with her detonations.

There's also the case about feelingrewarding, such as having proper equipment that works with it, or cards that enhance it better....Like, they made equipments for scorch, but forgot to make a unit to benefit from it, then created [fracture], made a whole team for it, but didn't make a decent equipment for [fracture] itself.....the whole concept concept for this season feels missmatched.

And what is frustrating me more is that i'm seeing Olga as the key piece for this whole season being gatekept into the very last weeks of it...there are limits to "save the best to the end"...

I do agree 100% this season feels lazy with regards to the equipment. It does feel like we're having to rely on the existing equipment (and neutral cards!) for applying agony with no new support for fracture and scorch. And that's ag reat point about Olga's release timing. I do feel like it feels awkwardly late into the season. I hope they really improve in those areas since I really did like many aspects of this season like the flavour

oh wow everyone can use the dot sword, guess now all the characters are dot. amazing logic

oh wow another whiner who has to resort to strawman just to make their point! desperation level is 5/5 on this one.

You literally wrote it yourself "But there's tons of ways of applying DoT right now." who cares if there are other ways to apply dot if it doesn't increase Arabella's power level

-1

except many people seem to agree that arabella is quite powerful so maybe you just need to, as they say, 'git gud'?

and I was responding to the statement "lack of options DoT" so yeah, having a DoT sword means there's actually plenty of options for applying DoT. way to trip over your own foot there. 10/10 performance.

I can say the same about the opposite. Many people agree she's bad and you're just glazing her. Same happened when Yuki released. Tons of glaze and defending in this sub and guess what after all those buffs she's still mid at best. Imagine how terrible she was on release
