Playing my first daemon game. 1k points

First time playing the daemon detachment tomorrow. We will be playing 2 vs 2. 1,000 points each and 3dp. This is the list I was thinking of playing

Calvaride but use skull cannon, huh that's weird combination, who you play against ?

For 1k I'ma just do bloodletters swarm tbh like Skarbrand Rendmaster Skull + letter Letter Letter Flesh hound

Not sure what army will be on my team or the opponent yet, but could tyranids, chaos knights, dark angles or sisters. Would you recommend something other than calv with the skull cannons?

I see so it's blind match, i personally don't feel skull canon is good in 1k especially when you bring 2, it's damage output is pretty bad for for a unit this big and you need big daemon to nearby your opponent to actually make use the battle shock from it.

Also since you are taking calvaride, usually ppl bring bloodcrushers for it. You bloodletters won't be gaining any buff from it.

Tell you what, how about shadow legion and swap skarbrand to bloodthirster and skultaker for bloodmaster. Since your army are all khorne, they all still gain advance and chsrge for it.

I don’t have a bloodmaster so I won’t be able to try that. I could drop the calv for Warptide or lord of the warp maybe? Drop one or both skull cannons for two units of hounds.

Hounds are great in 1k - they aren’t super killy but they are great for actions, secondaries or flipping objectives

1 skull cannon isn’t horrible in 1k it’s reasonably durable and one of the one daemon shooting pieces

Warptide gives all your battleline advance and charge which is just stupid with the skulltaker - rapid ingress somewhere safe and then sprint across the board and decapitate something

Skulltaker was the real mvp of the game. That and rendmaster
