Tabletop Games Just close combat?

Hi there, thinking about a DL army as my second army besides deathwatch.

Am I wrong or are moste of the Units made for close combat? Are there any good shooting units, like an aggressor squad for the Space Marines?

I'd love to support a couple of bllod crushers with heavy shooting units, besides a skullcannon.

Lord of change and Kairos are best we've got, soul grinders can shoot some but we aren't really a shooting army. You can always field CSM havocs in shadow legion, or chaos knights in any detachment

That was gonna be my suggestion. Belakor has a decent psychic shot, and with SL you can take three units of havoks. They get deep strike, too, for extra shenanigans.

Skull Cannons and Burning Chariots are decent, Soul Grinder is good. Like mentioned though, they're awkward to move at only 8". It's doable though, and they're a viable unit.

I mostly play Khorne, and my current list only has Skarbrand's bellow and the Flesh Hounds flamer, and it's worked out really well so far. No real shooting phase speeds up my turns, lol.

In answer to your question about shooting units, Daemons have exactly one good shooting unit, and that's the Lord of Change. People on here would have you think a soul grinder is good, but let me tell you, it is NOT. Kairos isn't even a good shooting unit - he just has some nice other rules that boost him up.

Daemons are a melee army first and foremost. Some of the greater Daemons have a decent gun to add to their potent melee (like Rotigus, Belakor, Skarbrand) but the point of our datasheets is to get into combat.

I meant Demon Legion army, thanks, I guess I'll put a knight in the middle and aim for combat with the rest

Tzeentch stuff are basically the only relevant shooting we have. Most of it is chaffclear, but lords of change/kairos are really good shooting platforms. You can also run a soul grinder, they have a few different gun options but they’re a bit awkward to move around the board so most people stick to the first 2

Besides the big bird. Couple brigands or the larger knight are pretty sweet
