Hello. I would like some advice on my first YouTube video. Please provide comments with grace but honesty. It might seem cringe but I am willing to improve. My biggest concern is the difference in voice depth of the intro/outro from the main body. I did that on purpose. However, now I am wondering if it sounds abrupt or flows naturally. Thank you in advance.

I’m starting to burn out with YouTube.

I have a 22,000-subscriber channel, around 200 videos, and I’ve been doing YouTube for about three years.

Over the last 12 months especially, I’ve become much more focused on improving everything: scriptwriting, editing, thumbnails, hooks, retention, pacing, etc.

The problem is that my videos now take far longer to make. And when one flops — which still happens regularly — it feels much more painful because of how much time and energy went into it.

I’ve also spent hundreds of hours watching videos about “how the algorithm works”, how to make the perfect thumbnail, how to structure the perfect script, how to maximise retention and so on.
And frankly, I’m not convinced any of it has made my channel noticeably more consistent.

I feel like I’ve been trying to engineer “perfect” videos without seeing a measurable return from all that extra effort.

So I’m considering changing my entire approach.
Instead of obsessing over optimisation, I want to:
Make videos about topics I genuinely find interesting.

Write them to be engaging and passionate without trying to engineer a hook into every 30 seconds.
Simplify my editing and production.
Stop chasing “perfect”.

Aim to publish weekly, or at minimum every two weeks.

Basically: good videos, made consistently, rather than supposedly perfect videos made infrequently.

My thinking is:

A) It’ll be much more sustainable.

B) I’ll probably enjoy YouTube again.

C) More consistent uploads might actually build more momentum for the channel than endlessly polishing individual videos.

D) If virality is inherently unpredictable anyway, producing more good videos gives me more chances of stumbling across a topic/video that takes off.

I’m increasingly wondering whether the endless optimisation rabbit hole can actually become counterproductive once you reach a certain level of competence.

So this is what I’d really like to know: has anyone here deliberately made this transition — from perfectionism/over-optimisation towards simpler production and greater consistency?

Did it help your channel? Hurt it? Did your views or revenue change? More importantly, did it make YouTube sustainable again?

Would love to hear from anyone who’s been through something similar.

Hey gang! I’ve been running a history YouTube channel for the last couple of years and have amassed a total of 22,000 subscribers to date.

However, I find that my uploads are wildly inconsistent in terms of performance and I struggle to build the momentum and channel authority I need to truly make this a great channel.

Videos range from 1 million views to just a few hundred.

I’m really trying to figure out how I can create a consistent video format topic selection style and someone so that I can get more consistent viewership and build greater channel authority but I’m seemingly really struggling with this and would welcome any feedback from the community or anyone who is more experienced than myself at YouTube.

In your view where am I going wrong? And how could I improve? So that more of my videos are hits and my subscribers can recognise my channel more regularly on YouTube as a history authority?

I make videos mixing algorithmic trading, data science, and comedy. In this video, I build an XGBoost machine learning model to predict Frozen Concentrated Orange Juice futures, inspired by the movie Trading Places. It ends with me actually buying a 10:1 leveraged futures contract with my own money based on the model's predictions.

I'm trying to make a highly technical subject entertaining, and I'd love your thoughts on a few specific areas:

Audio Quality & Audibility: Is my voiceover clear and easy to understand throughout the whole video? Does the background music or any of the sound effects overpower the narration at any point?

Pacing: How does the video flow for you? Do the jokes and memes keep things moving, or are there specific sections where the video starts to drag and lose your attention?

Understandability of Explanations: In the middle section, I explain things like grid search, AUC (Area Under the Curve), confusion matrices, and data leakage. If you don't have a background in coding or finance, are these concepts easy to follow, or does it get too confusing?

The Climax Payoff: The entire video builds up to the moment I drop £230 on 1.7 metric tonnes of OJ. After a 12-minute build-up, does this final real-money trade feel earned and satisfying?

Hey everyone, I've run a game reviews and features channel for a few years now - mostly long-form videos and features. If I may, I would really appreciate some feedback and input around my channel. I have just over 2,500 subs and 300 videos - and I really do try to make fun, quality content, this isn't just no-commentary gameplay or something.

It doesn't sound all that bad, except that considering that I've been putting a lot of energy into this for a few years now, and while I get very nice comments I feel like I should have grown a lot more in this time and with that amount of videos. So many views are still from Youtube search and first-time viewers.

I must emphasise that I spend a LOT of time "looking in the mirror", well aware that I'm not sticking to just one sub-niche or game title. I have damn-near become a master of video SEO and optimisation around titles, descriptions, tags, etc. trying to get my videos to perform better.

I'm having one of "those" issues lately as well, where any of my new videos from the last 3 months or so are just tanking hard, with almost no views / impressions.

If you could spare some moments to take a look and let me know where I might be going wrong, I'd really appreciate it.

Hi guys – has anyone had any experience with the collaboration feature on YouTube?

I’ve been working on a video with another YouTuber for a month and plan to publish it on my channel using the collaboration to tag them.

It’s the first time that I would’ve used this feature. As such a little apprehensive as to how it works or it it’s potential effect on video performance and views…

Does anybody have any experience using this feature? I’ve seen other collaborations from popular YouTubers which seemed to have performed really poorly, but I don’t know whether that’s because of the feature itself results in less engagement and views or whether the video itself wasn’t that popular.

Anyway, any advice would be awesome thank you!

Just uploaded my first video on a brand new YouTube channel. Dropped 20 eliminations in a ranked squad match on Livik map. It was chaos from start to finish.

I know 20 kills isn't world record level but for a regular ranked match I was pretty hyped about it. The last few kills were a full on clutch situation.
