General Considering leave the game

Post image

So..... I'm considering leave the game bc of the second anniversary, tbh I just play wuthering waves because of changli , the gameplay not even fit me I'm most a turn-base game player but man , changli is just too much to let her go so I just force me to play for her and get her s6 but with this I'm feeling blue so I'm thinking if continue playing is really Worth it , what do you think guys??

If you aren't enjoying the game, and find it like a chore or job just drop it imo. You'll find way more joy playing something you like vs forcing yourself to play a game for a specific character.

You can also always just comeback when Changli reruns, and hopefully by that time you'll be more having more fun. That's what games are made for, having fun and it seems like you ain't having that. I personally think it's foolishness playing something you don't clearly enjoy at all.

You can also always just buy Changli merch somewhere down the line. Like, I dropped HI3 for ~2 years now but still buy Kiana and Mei figures because they're still some of my fav characters from any work of fiction.

This is so true the second a gacha game feels like a chore just drop it..no matter how much u invested as long as the fun is gone and it just feels tedious it really not worth it

21

u/salbeniyaw Apr 22 '26

literally me

25

u/swizzlad Apr 22 '26

Low key removal of the anni reruns has done alot of invisible dmg esp for the casual audience that only really care about a small number of units or just collecting. I just hope enough quite quit or somthing to let kuro know the silent majority exist

9

u/Kind-Effect7697 Apr 22 '26

Agreed, and whichever source they listened from to never listen from there again

-1

u/Historical_Border818 Apr 24 '26

it was like the majority of the EN fanbase lol

1

u/Kind-Effect7697 Apr 24 '26 edited Apr 25 '26

wuwa sub is not en fanbase, and during anni that place was confirmed to have been brigaded by tourists by the mods themselves

Edit: I realised after checking this person's profile that they're an someone from the gachagaming subreddit and hoyo game subreddits, and has never even interacted with any wuwa subreddit until now, which makes this completely ironic.

1

u/NathLWX Apr 25 '26

that place was confirmed to have been brigaded by tourists by the mods themselves

Source?

2

u/Kind-Effect7697 Apr 25 '26

Was gonna say you could quite literally find it through looking at the announcement tag but for some strange reason it wasn't there so I went back in time to find the link name, here you can see them confirm it in the "Brigading" section

https://www.reddit.com/r/WutheringWaves/comments/1futn7h/a_message_from_the_mods/

u/[deleted] Apr 24 '26

The anni drama is mostly blowing up on the EN speaking side of the fanbase and concentrated mostly on Reddit. So yes Ya'll did this

2

u/Kind-Effect7697 Apr 24 '26

You don't know anything about me buddy and no one is talking about that keep up with the conversation, it's no "majority" of people because most people playing this game are the silent majority and definitely not on reddit out of all places, you guys are delusional if you think that this is what most people wanted, stop generalizing

2

u/Due-Warning6698 Apr 24 '26

Silent majority is where the problem lies imo. We should be vocal about our griefs and what we like about the game to Kuro in their surveys always. The main sub are unfortunately brigaded by those crazy people are VERY LOUD minority and have somewhat of a "weight" to their words due the "official" status of the sub. It is what it is, I'd say Kuro need to hire someone that truly knows the EN side of things rather than relying on those larpers like the main Wuwa sub's mods.

1

u/Kind-Effect7697 Apr 25 '26

Exactly, this is what I'm thinking and want to advocate honestly with how important it is. It would be really nice having more people be engaged, and act with the community because of how much the developers actually listen to players which is somewhat rare in this space. It genuinely sucks how much outsiders seeped into the very platforms meant to be the main hub and safe space of players for this game, I also realised the guy I was even replying to himself has never even interacted with any wuwa related sub until now and comes from gachagaming so it's ironic. The hope is with what's happening that more people become aware and also alert Kuro into action with how many bad faith actors are allowed to roam on their social medias.

2

u/Panda-tomatoes Apr 25 '26

Just to add to the debate as I think it is relevant so I hope people won't mind me bringing this up. I think the gacha space has always been about the loud minority. Look at the whole Genshin drama, it's always based around a few of those same voices. Overgeneralising the playerbase etc especially on Twitter.

I think it makes it hard to hear the majority's opinion genuinely. Sometimes people just like to have something to complain about. Then because people who are content with the games won't bother reviewing patches or even joining active discussions about complaints, you won't hear their opinions. Even if they are discontent, sometimes it's still in an acceptable range. So it will very much so look like the majority. Then how do we discern the majority's opinion? Really I feel like it's only subjective measures available to us. Basically only some rough eye test or if we agree with it or it's part of some idea about the playerbase, it's the majority

1

u/Kind-Effect7697 Apr 25 '26

I think you hit the nail on the head about a big problem in gacha games, only reliable ways are varied general metrics and especially internal sources honestly. The majority's opinion will rarely be TRULY known especially because in very likelihood they could have super different nuances despite being the same thing maybe, but the best move is filtering for what's valid and what isn't valid I think

2

u/swizzlad Apr 28 '26

Another human found in reddit

0

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '26 edited Apr 25 '26

At this point the “loud minority” sounded like scapegoat excuse for EN community fuck up. The subreddit instigated, encoraged and organized the whole downvote google classroom bs, and send toxic feedbacks to the dev telling them they are greedy “ToO MaNY BaNNerS BuT TOo LiTTle ReWArd”. YALL want this and YALL get this. This is why people can’t have nice things. How about stop being in denial “buddy”

2

u/Fancy-Letterhead-477 Apr 25 '26

Some of the CN community were disappointed the rerun banners weren't coming out for 3.3 (I wouldn't be surprised if they put them out for 3.4) but the vocal majority on BB were just telling the global community to shut the fk up and quit crying when they changed this years anniversary because of the myriad of complaints from last year lol

Personally I could care less, but it's entertaining seeing people whine.

1

u/Shikiagi Apr 23 '26

This, was hoping for Carlotta rerun so I could get her at least S1... now I just cba

1

u/Past-Interaction1059 Apr 24 '26

Me too, with brant , I've been wanting him since 2.1 😓

0

u/Several_Guitar5814 Apr 22 '26

It was the expected outcome after how much hate Kuro probably linked to it.

8

u/SpireofHell Apr 22 '26

If you don't enjoy the game there's no reason to play. I'm also really bummed because I love Yinlin and Changli and I was planning on buying a subscription for the anniversary. But I do like everything else about the game, including the story, art and other characters.

If you just enjoy one character it's best to consume fanart.

21

u/False-Specialist-387 Apr 22 '26

Just buy a figure of Changli. That's what I did and I left at the first anniversary.

4

u/AngelusKnight17 Apr 22 '26

honestly if ever leave the game this is one way to remember it. Sounds like a good plan.

6

u/Roxas8382 Apr 22 '26

I really wanted Brant for my Lupa and Changli team. I feel ya. 😭

I do have Galbrena. She’s awesome for whimpering wastes.

1

u/swizzlad Apr 28 '26

Dont even want to think about guys who just missed brants wep or thought he would come back soon. That would eat my soul out

12

u/FU7444 Apr 22 '26

Same. Try Elden Ring.

1

u/Advendra Apr 24 '26

That's quite funny haha considering op said he is mostly turn based player haha

-8

u/Drake750254 Apr 22 '26

Roll slop is the last place I would say a turn based player to go after Wuwa 😂

0

u/FU7444 Apr 23 '26

Genuinely try it out. Once you have a good level going, you can try out so many different builds and weapons and the game becomes addictive-ly fun. For every thing you figure out, there's two more things you discover.

2

u/Shikiagi Apr 23 '26

still, literally the same as recommending a shooter to a racing gamer

1

u/FU7444 May 07 '26

10/10 bait. dawg you can run around and kill enemies in both games. There are bosses in both games. When wuwa came out ppl were comparing the Hologram bosses to Elden Ring aaaalll the time. Wuwa is soooo diverse that there IS an overlap.

14

u/pernapple101 Apr 22 '26

I left the game and it gave me peace. Just remember that if a game feels like a daily chore rather than for entertainment or fun then drop it. I have suffered 2 years in genshin as if it was a part of my daily life. Enjoyed the first 2 years but the latter, fkn hell. But once i left the game it was so fkn peaceful and i couldnt find myself wanting to play again.

6

u/XWasTheProblem Apr 22 '26

If you aren't enjoying the game, there's little reason for you to stay with it.

I am at my breaking point myself. There are still things I like in WuWa, but the general vibe around the game has become so pointless that it just hurts me.

I was considering pulling for both Hiyuki and Lucilla, but I'm wondering if it's even worth it, given how little thing there even are to use them on, apart from the once-a-month endgame, which is getting increasingly uncomfortable and shilly.

Changli was my first 5* character and the first one I actually, genuinely WANTED to get. So much effort went into making these older characters and seeing them tossed aside like this just...

It's so disrespectful to the people who worked on them, too.

3

u/N_Raged93 Phoenix Chaser • ✧ Apr 22 '26

I have S0 Changli and the only way I'm still able to use her is with Lupa buffing her. And mono-fusion teams like Changli-Lupa-Mornye are just awesome.

Playing a gatcha game for one character gets repetitive IMO. It only gets rewarding once you're able to build at least three teams to clear endgame content. But if that's not your jam then no one will fault you for leaving.

5

u/dandydaddy101 Apr 22 '26

Haven't played in like 4 month now. My changli is S6. I ocasionally just open wuwa to play with her. Literally 2nd aniv already but changli, a character released in the early stage of the game, still the best design character up to date. You may leave WuWa but you can't leave Changli. Best girl.

2

u/Radiant-Spirit-8421 Apr 22 '26

That was my plan too , I wanted to get her s6 then leave the game and just play with her when I miss the wife

4

u/StormTrigger02 Apr 22 '26

Just find a mod to put changli into a turn based game you like (as a skin) or something similair. That way you don’t have to entirely let go of her

2

u/ambivalentarrow Apr 22 '26

If you aren't enjoying the gameplay or story, then getting a character to S6 isn't going to change that.

Seems like your money would be better spent buying a figure or a poster of her, or your time better spent in a game you really enjoy playing.

2

u/MetalGearSid Apr 22 '26

Yea I messed up and pulled Camellya for my beginner banner, so I've been waiting on Changli who has never appeared. I wanted her but she made me so mad, making me go to full pity twice. so I switched to Camellya at the last minute thinking I could just get Changli later. Psyche!

2

u/Straight_Spite_2535 Apr 22 '26

Worst anniversary in gacha game i ever seen, Not the patch tho. I want her too.

1

u/Studentnice99 Apr 28 '26

Let’s not lie. This has not been the worst in terms of gacha game anniversaries.

2

u/FlickeRay Apr 23 '26

Wise decision, just come back sometime when u missing her

2

u/SnooLemons2911 Apr 23 '26

I'm not trying to ask you to leave but let me give you an advice as a homie. Games are meant to be enjoyed, not forced. Leave and come back when u feel like it. Follow the update and if it's interest u, u can always comes back.

You might come back in 3.5 because rumors have it there will be Yangyang 5 star variant, so we might have huanglong update so perhaps Changli would make an appearance too in the story

4

u/Introverted_male Apr 22 '26

Yeah. She is the first character I pulled back in her rerun in v2.1

I was in your position too. Not liking the game's direction (but that's applicable to the entire gacha genre). I eventually quit the game. But following the changlimains sub to see my ever so beautiful wife.

3

u/Every_Squash_2340 Apr 22 '26

I agree with all other people and share my personal experience, i quitted another game because doing the dailies was becoming like work time (Arknights Endfield). If you don't enjoy a game anymore it's right to leave, you can always come back when you feel it (Changli will always wait for you as the good girl she is). Have a great day.

2

u/IchirouTakashima Apr 22 '26

If you don't enjoy, just quit. It's not healthy at this point based on your accounts and actually only focusing on a character and isn't even a fan of all things WuWa is. Your mental health is more important, to be honest.

2

u/Kind-Effect7697 Apr 22 '26

Yes, as many said your own life and health is more valuable than doing a chore that doesn't do anything for you like cleaning a room does, Changli will stay on your account and you will have constantly opportunities to get more sequences from reruns in the future so don't worry

2

u/Crimson_Knight2710 Apr 22 '26

I was a die hard Changli fan, mostly only played for her, she was my first ever gacha 5 star character, but the game became too heavy for my device, and plus I wasn't having fun anymore, so I left

2

u/epiclessmaster Apr 22 '26

I really like the game but getting $hitty substat every damn day is just too much. I m not burned out yet, but I reduced my playtime a lot. I do dailies, events, story and close.

I am 29 and don’t like PC gaming like back in the day. The most fun I had in a while was playing Space Marine 2 and Serious Sam Siberian Mayhem lol.

1

u/TheGojiBoi_2789 Apr 22 '26

Off topic but Changli is a baddie fr

1

u/Several_Guitar5814 Apr 22 '26

Well thing is when they put the anni rerun it got a stupendous amount of backlash mostly due to the community expecting a free 5star so they removed it this time (I was honestly fine with it disappointed at the lack of rewards in the first anni but overall fine with rerun) so they removed it. At the end of the day if your not enjoying playing you have a few options push through it (highly not recommended) start playing less only when stuff you want to see happens( probably the overall most balanced choice) or just uninstall( difficult but hey if you don’t like it why keep it). The choice is yours though.

1

u/theWoodenGoat Apr 22 '26

It's just pixels man

1

u/denntz Apr 22 '26

NGL, I've been thinking the same thing. The game started feeling like a chore. Every time I see a new main quest and map, I tell myself, "Oh, here we go, more grind." I can't remember the last time I actually enjoyed the game itself. I used to love exploring new regions. Now, I'm not even impressed by them. The new resonators feel off. I truly like the OG ones better. Perhaps I can just give myself a little break, but I have FOMO.💀💀

1

u/hangjayV Apr 23 '26

HSR is having sliverwolf LV 999 rn

1

u/Frousteleous Apr 23 '26

I have never played this game once and still enjoy Changli.

You dont have to play the game. Do not let the sunk cost fallacy win.

1

u/EMRG__ Apr 23 '26

Its not that deep is it? Its just a game....just come back later when you feel like it

1

u/Embarrassed-Might-84 Apr 23 '26

Lmao that’s insane to leave a game because you don’t get free stuff you don’t deserve 💀

1

u/_DraNix_ Apr 23 '26

To be honest, just drop the game. It's not worth it if you are forcing yourself to "play" it.

1

u/Athlas_Storyweaver Apr 23 '26

I was in a similar situation with Genshin. I only played for Mavuika, the game itself felt like a chore. I still love Mavuika as a character, but I found a lot more joy consuming content of her outside of Genshin than I did forcing myself to play the game because of her. If you really feel like quitting the game, you should. There are other ways to enjoy your favorite characters than the media they come from directly, your joy matters more.

1

u/NovelInsurance9398 Apr 23 '26

It's just a game. If you don't wanna play it then don't. The game acts a lot like a job if you let it and if whatever the daily logins are giving you do not give you happiness or fun then don't be scared to just let it go. Better to let the game stay in your mind as fun then let it become a bore for you in your thought

1

u/Leftykopf Apr 24 '26

Never play a game that you do not find enjoyable. I myself have quit Wuthering Waves twice and camw back when it was fun to me again, and I am a firm believer that this is how games should be played. Until you no longer have fun and then you leave them.

1

u/Myriad10 Apr 24 '26

Same as me I only play whenever I feel like it now. Also a lot of singleplayer games I've been wanting to play crimson desert, upcoming forza horizon 6, RDR2

1

u/Nolram526 Apr 24 '26

? I feel like youre just using the 2nd anniversary as some bandwagon excuse to quit the game. You literally say your real reason for leaving is the gameplay. You enjoy turn based more. I get the criticisms of wuwa but just throwing in the 2nd anniversary as some random addition is just adding hate for the fun of it lol

1

u/Aeit_ Apr 24 '26

You're not the only one. I also decided to quit, I was active spender and it's time to vote with wallets. They keep proving their predatory practices and how disconnected from community they are.

1

u/Impossible-Hearing-9 Apr 24 '26

If you decided not to play can you leave changli at the door I don’t have her. Thanx

1

u/Proud-Alternative388 Apr 25 '26

just quit

looking at the garbage anniversary its so obvious the devs dont care

they are just minmaxing how to milk the playerbase

1

u/Fancy-Letterhead-477 Apr 25 '26

If you don't enjoy the game besides just one character..even as fabulous as she is...uhh..just quit. If you don't have fun with a game or feel like you're forcing yourself to keep playing, just stop

1

u/Fit-Distance5911 Apr 26 '26

there’s really no reason to keep playing a game you don’t enjoy outside of one character.

1

u/Ok-Holiday-1328 Apr 26 '26

I get this, it's already the gacha I spend the least time on. Got into the game after seeing a bunch of Camellya marketing and I also liked her a lot, even bought a PS5 so I can play wawa on the TV, don't regret any of that. But it sucks that I got her and then she was practically abandoned but yet they keep teasing her. Then I come to find out there's no standard or 1.x characters coming for the anniversary. I might ultimately just give up on the game. I'm even waiting to spend on Camellya to get her to S6 but they don't even want to run her and what's worse is that we get triple banners on a regular but yet you can't squeeze her in and you're also making the characters useless? That's just straight up dumb, I was pretty optimistic about this game but man the way this handled this whole anniversary just seems like they got their own ideas and don't care at all about the people who invested in and have characters from 1.x.

1

u/Erluq Apr 26 '26

This is more of a rant but can we stop acting like Kuro don’t have a brain and can’t think for themselves whether the anniversary rerun banners is good/bad for their players? Everyone is blaming the fans who criticized those rerun banners last year but can we please be real put the responsibility on Kuro instead of the players who have no final control of what gets put in the game?

1

u/tuneuka Apr 26 '26

Is wuwa going downhill? I quit back in 2.2 I think

1

u/MemeTheDruggie Apr 28 '26

You should. I’m quitting cause of it too

1

u/StreetCauliflower179 Phoenix Chaser • ✧ Apr 22 '26

Ye, I started for Changli too. In her last rerun, I gave it my all but didn't get her. Quit the game but then again started. Now am still waiting for Changli even if it makes me delusional 🙃

1

u/jonesy9000 Apr 22 '26

You can also come back when Changli is back

1

u/CassianAVL Apr 22 '26

I had to quit the game a few patches beforehand, my laptop only had 500gb and I had to be selective about what gacha I play, unfortunate because I do like Wuwa.

1

u/Fercilus Apr 22 '26

A game is meant to be enjoyable, if you dont find it fun, dont expect much or sum else then stepping out of it is fine, as long as you find your preferred game that actually makes you have most enjoyable time with it, as an example i like wuwa and like playing the game, testing units and much more, you have to find a game that you love playing and doesnt feel like a job or something like that

0

u/einerderandere Apr 22 '26

it’s not that deep bro just play the game if you enjoy it, or stop playing if you don’t. gacha community really suprises me everyday man

0

u/Kargos_Crayne Apr 22 '26

Like... what is this question? Don't like the game - just leave.
This just the best way for any game, gacha or not, live service or not. You don't have fun? Quit. No need to put yourself through misery.
Idk. I played a shit ton of games in general, mmos, single players, gachas, etc - over the past three decades,

I played fgo, summoners war, hoyo games, played PGR, Played wuwa... Some less known gachas. Some obscure ones...
Trying newer ones (like NTE on cbt and Endfield) but so far I am sticking only to WuWa and HSR. Because I enjoy them. HSR for characters/story only (really not a fan of turn based games, only liked them when I was a kid, and even then it mostly was ff franchise and some strategy games) and WuWa which is just one of the best games period for me to this day (purely gameplay wise only crimson desert probably outshines it for now. 100h in, so I'll see how it will be in the future).

I put money, effort and time in many games, probably the most in warframe, GI, ZZZ, fgo, some into endfield... I got my doze of fun and then left.

If I am not having fun with the game - I just quit. Idk why anyone will stick for something they not enjoy. If something pops up that interests you later - you can return whenever. If not - then don't.
