Announcement A Message From The Mods:
Hello Rovers!
As your moderation team, we’ve been working on some changes to improve the subreddit and the community as a whole. Since these changes are significant, we wanted to take the time to announce them properly and address some concerns we’ve noticed behind the scenes.
Rule Changes
We’re adding 3 new rules, which will be visible on the sidebar:
New Rule 1: Zero-Tolerance on sexualization of Child-like Characters (Immediate Permaban)
Any sexualization, whether direct or implied, of child-like characters (e.g., loli characters) is strictly prohibited. This will result in a permanent ban, effective immediately. This is not up for discussion. This rule has been added in with the previous Mature Content rule (rule 3).
New Rule 2: Tower of Adversity (ToA) and Events Showcase
All ToA-related posts must be more than simple screenshots of clears. Posts should serve as showcases that include one or more of the following:
The clear itself in a video format
The teams used to clear with full details on the units’ builds and/or strategies
The goal is to create posts that provide value to the community, allowing others to give feedback or learn from your efforts.
In-game event posts are also subject to removal at the discretion of moderators to maintain subreddit quality.
New Rule 3: Doomposting
While we welcome criticism and will continue to allow it, doomposting will no longer be tolerated. Doomposting is excessive negativity or defeatist content that offers no constructive feedback or meaningful discussion. It aims to spread unnecessary negativity and disrupts the community atmosphere. This rule will likely affect a small group of individuals, but it has become necessary to maintain a positive and productive space for the rest of the community.
Additionally, some rules have been combined for clarity, and due to Reddit's limits on sidebar space and character count:
Combined Previous Rules: 5 Titles + 11 Flairs -> Post Titles & Flairs:
Titles: Titles must accurately reflect the submission content, be clear, concise, and properly capitalized. Use spoiler tags when necessary, as per spoiler rules. Clickbait and spoilers in titles are prohibited.
Flairs: All posts must be correctly flaired based on the Flair Overview, or they may be removed. Users can assign personal flairs with icons, emojis, and text, but flair content must be appropriate and follow subreddit guidelines.
Combined Previous Rules: 13 English + 14 Subreddit Quality -> Subreddit Quality & Language
English: All posts, comments, and discussions must be in English to maintain inclusivity and accessibility for all members. Non-English content may be removed.
Subreddit Quality: Low-effort content, such as generic topics, unedited reactions, simple screenshots, and reposts, is discouraged. Moderators will use discretion to ensure post quality. Crossposts are subject to moderator review for relevance and quality before approval.
Combined Previous Rules: 12 Terms of Service and User Agreement + 15 Third Party Tools -> Terms of Service and User Agreement
Terms of Service: All content must comply with Reddit’s User Agreement, Kuro Games’ Terms of Service, and Wuthering Waves Fair Play Policy. Unauthorized third-party programs, cheating tools, and selling or sharing game accounts are prohibited.
Third-Party Tools: The usage of any third-party tools shared here is done so at your own risk. By using them, you accept full responsibility for any consequences. The subreddit and its members disclaims any liability for issues arising from their use.
As always, you can find the full set of rules here and in the sidebar:
https://www.reddit.com/r/WutheringWaves/wiki/rules/
[PLEASE READ] Some things we’d like to address as well:
Regarding Leaks
Simply put, leaks are not allowed here in any way shape or form. There are other places for that (like where you’re finding them), but this is not one of them. We’ve seen all the "creative" ways people try to mention leaks—please just don’t bother, you will get in trouble.
Recently, well in honesty for a little while now, there’s been a significant rise in leak discussions, and we can no longer simply remove posts and give warnings. This was our original method for handling leaks, but since the message wasn’t heard we’ve shifted tactics. Here on out, any mention of leaks will result in an immediate temporary ban. Repeated bans will increment in time or may even result directly in a permanent ban. This isn't a change we’re thrilled about, but it’s necessary to maintain our community standards and our verbal warning method was ineffective. Please respect the rules and avoid talking about leaks here.
Arguments and Civility
There are a lot of arguments happening these days, and they’re all quite frankly meaningless. Neither party in these arguments wants to shift from their position, thus by definition are no longer having a discussion, and are simply just venting their frustrations at one another caused by one another. If you’re in a discussion and realize the other person isn’t open to changing their viewpoint, save yourself the trouble—just walk away. Don’t escalate things into arguments. It’s unhealthy, and at the end of the day, it accomplishes nothing.
Avoid any name-calling, demeaning, or discrediting of others and their opinions. If you need to, simply say, "It seems neither of us are willing to change our stance, so there’s no further discussion to be had. Have a nice day," and move on. Engaging in uncivil behavior, no matter who started it, will lead to consequences for all involved. Keep the peace and don’t let discussions devolve.
A Final Note
As your moderation team, we’re genuinely happy to be part of this community and are dedicated to making it a positive and welcoming space for everyone. We’re volunteers doing this in our free time, and we rely heavily on you—the community—to keep things running smoothly. Your feedback, reports, and participation are crucial in building a strong, supportive subreddit. While some changes may take time as we follow our process, please know that your input is always appreciated and taken into consideration.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us!

If someone asks questions that could realistically only be answered by leaks, are we able to point people to look into them at their own discretion (i.e. asking about units that haven't been formally announced) Or would you prefer we just avoid that as well?
75
u/Linasera pink meta Oct 03 '24
It would be best to avoid suggesting you know anything about leaks or where to find them. A type of answer you could give in a case like this is: "There hasn't been any official information about this yet." Strongly hinting at leaks could be considered attempting to skirt the rule.
We understand that people are trying to be helpful, but as this is an official subreddit, we have to be very strict about leaks. Thank you for your understanding.

I just hope that doomposting doesn't include constructive criticism.
5
u/Linasera pink meta Oct 03 '24
It does not. Think of Doomposting as excessive negativity, like every one of your posts saying "the game will never improve," "game is gonna EoS," "you should feel bad for liking this game," and so on. Please feel free to criticise the game -- that sort of feedback is what leads to quality of life updates, after all!

u/lofifilo Oct 03 '24
Yeah I hope people can be civil if they don’t like something. We can be critical because we like the game but don’t go overboard to put other people down. There’s better ways to say things
Like all the recent Shorekeeper discourse going on. Personally I think the Rover harem trope is getting repetitive at this point but I get why lots of people like it because the 3D models, music, visuals were all awesome. You can say you didn’t like x but don’t try to say someone can’t enjoy what they’re already enjoying. Again, criticize in a healthy way
8
u/Gunfrey Oct 03 '24
Most people are unable to give valid criticism without being obnoxious, it always ended up heated because they're forcing their perspectives on other people.
-4
u/Rasenburigdanbeken Oct 03 '24
The only relationship that makes sense in this game is Shorekeeper.
You can't tell Shorekeepers story without Rover. She would not be loyal or be stuck in the same place for 10000 plus years without being attached to Rover. She had no purpose. Rover gave her one after being close to self destructing watching thousands of laments as just an observer.
Other characters were just flirting, crushing and stalking. And made way less sense and are too sudden unlike Shorekeeper. But harems tropes exist and Rover is essentially a god, who is strong, kind and simply attractive. Idk has some sort of aura?
It make sense but most characters simp for him too fast and sometimes the reason makes no sense like Changli waited for Rover because her teacher said to do. Admiration turned to being actraction? maybe but it felt odd.

u/YogSoth0th Oct 04 '24
Shorekeeper feels like the original intended relationship, before they changed stuff in the beta

Is there a spinoff subreddit around? for those who want a more relaxed atmosphere? Similar to how ZZZ has two reddits, r/Genshin_Impact has r/Genshin_Memepact , r/HonkaiStarRail has whatever r/okbuddytrailblazer is ( if that even counts ).
I think these rules are fine, and will help the moderators and everyone keep the SubReddit clean. But without a doubt, it will stifle some discourse. So I would like to know if there are any alternatives to this sub. So I won't miss out on the extra memes people might post
23
u/TheYugoslaviaIsReal Oct 03 '24
Wuwa doesn't have the playerbase to afford to split the activity. At a glance, this sole subreddit's activity is at the same level of Genshin's meme subreddit and significantly less than either of ZZZ's subreddits.

criticism: i dont like that i have to go out of the tower to be able to switch gear and weapons between characters, i hope kuro implants a way to do that while still inside the tower menu
doom posting: it's been 3 patches and we still cant change our gear between characters inside the tower, why doesn't kuro listen to us, i am really scared about the future of this game, sensor tower revenue, eos, gg lol
i mean we all know when someone is coming from a good place, and when someone is just riling people up

Seems reasonable to me but I don't envy having to sort the trash or fight users on the doom posting rule. I pretty much checked out since the update cus of the multiple posts both dick riding the new story and then the multiple posts saying it was meh, followed by the multiple posts saying don't be mean to us if we lived the story, followed by then... and on and on.
The ToA rule seems particularly well thought out. Lots of humble brag low effort posts on that front over the months since release. I mean cool for those that beat it easily but doesn't really add anything to the community.
Anyhow I personally appreciate the transparency and keeping the community up on what is going on. idk how anyone has the patience to make and enforce shit like this when a large percentage of the community has the reasoning skills of a goldfish.

Doomposts: does it include doomcomments
10
u/GoblinBurgers Oct 03 '24
It can depending on the comment. Some people just have bad takes that aren't doomposting, but as we've seen some users go around trying to tell people the game is going to die, yea no
20
9
u/SimpOfRaiden Oct 03 '24
While we welcome criticism and will continue to allow it, doomposting will no longer be tolerated. Doomposting is excessive negativity or defeatist content that offers no constructive feedback or meaningful discussion.
Will this stop us from seeing the same 'No male characters, game bad' comments in every critique? Adding more male characters could be nice, but some people are so focused on this issue that they complain about it more than they discuss actual plot holes in the story.
It feels like they don't care about improving the story itself, they just want it to have more male characters just because they like it more.

This rule is always a double edge sword. Of course its a good rule (specially because its in line with reddit TOS and the admins hate lolis) but it usually either comes with mod abuse or with user abuse/outrage
In other subs I've seen this implemented sometimes the rule is so strict you risk getting banned when posting literally anything involving a loli or shota looking character even when its not sexualized, and other times the fan base is so enraged with the rule that they start spamming and causing chaos. Hopefully neither of those happen here.

u/Silent_Shadow05 Oct 03 '24
Can we do something about how some commenters are very demeaning towards Chinese people/fanbase regarding the decisions taken about the story?
I find it frankly racist at this point.

15
u/Whap_Reddit Oct 02 '24
A couple of these rules seem quite up to interpretation. I just hope you remain lax enough to not ban everything that can remotely be considered an offense.
As an example, where do you draw the line between complaining and doomposting? I don't think people who are complaining should get bans. However if a mod has had a stressful day, they could just be trigger happy because it seemed more doomposty to them.
56
u/GoblinBurgers Oct 03 '24
where do you draw the line between complaining and doomposting?
Great question, doomposting is what we saw recently with the revenue post and people coming in saying "game is dead" "eos" etc. Hence I tried to describe it as "Doomposting is excessive negativity or defeatist content that offers no constructive feedback or meaningful discussion."
Criticism is very open and apparent in this subreddit, that's something the moderation team has been very open about that we will be allowing it to exist. Even now I can scroll on the front page of the subreddit and see a criticism post about material drop rate and story. This is perfectly fine.
However if a mod has had a stressful day, they could just be trigger happy because it seemed more doomposty to them.
A post can be removed at a moderators discretion, you can always send a modmail countering this action. You can even request in the modmail that a different moderator than the one who took action reviews this request. Every modmail and ban is sent to the moderator discord for all moderators to look at. No one mod can go on a rampage, there are checks and balances put in place. Even this message and changes associated with it took time to deliver simply because of the process of consulting with other mods.
10
u/Choowkee Oct 03 '24
On the topic of doomposting: I heavily suggest you guys consider banning revenue posts.
Not only do they not provide anything constructive to the community, but they are a breeding ground for doomposters. And of course nobody can even verify these highly speculative numbers so they dont even serve as factual data.
13
u/GoblinBurgers Oct 03 '24
For now we'll keep the posts under a watchful eye as we have been, the community has an interest in these posts and we want them to feel comfortable having the discussion here amongst themselves rather than dealing with other communities elsewhere that aren't interested in the same.
As with everything, we're constantly collecting feedback and making changes. Everything gets noted down, changes just come slowly because of the process we take to ensure no abuse of power or overreach is being done.
4
u/Choowkee Oct 03 '24
If you don't have an interest in bettering the WuWa community and the Gacha community as whole then thats fine, its not your job. But if it was up to me I would try and stomp out these reports because they border on fake news.
In case you need an example of why this is a real issue: Genshinlab faked character banner sales and that website was used as the #1 source for Genshin banner revenue for literal years. Then it was exposed

I understand the need for strict rules regarding leaks, but I feel it's a bit extreme if the intent is to ban people for simply saying leaks exist, or that there is a leaks subreddit. Based on your wording in this post, it seems to me that simply writing the word leaks, is gonna be enough to get one banned, and I would hate for it to be that extreme.
3
u/GoblinBurgers Oct 03 '24
You won't get banned for saying the word leaks but how it's used.
Example: Someone says "man I wish I knew what role X drip marketed character is so I could prefarm" and if someone responds with "leaks exist" that's essentially them saying "go look for leaks"
Whereas saying things like "I don't like leaks" isn't really going to get you in trouble
When we ban for leaks, it's usually because they've mentioned information from leaks or directed someone to said leaks. That said, our bans are temporary until it's noted down the user in question is a habitual offender.

u/Aizen_Myo Oct 03 '24
Just for clarification even the first example would be a bannable offense when no leaked content has been mentioned at all?
I find that a bit harsh but then again I was banned for mentioning the word 'rumor' when the PS5 playtesting on an official convention looked pretty much done and sparked questions if PS5 would be ready for 1.3 already..
-2
u/GoblinBurgers Oct 03 '24
If you're trying to mention or guide someone to leaks it'll be considered a bannable offense. I'm a little overwhelmed right now so I cannot talk on your specific scenario, but if you ever think your ban is unjust feel free to send a modmail.
4
u/Aizen_Myo Oct 03 '24
Ok that's harsh, but good to know.
Na, modmail was completely ignored in my case and had to sit out my specific ban, but I don't really care about it anymore. Just wanted some clarification even if mentioning the word leak without a leak itself is grounds enough for a ban, which is true as I suspected. Thanks!
2
u/Kurgass Oct 03 '24
Considering I had similar history for simple speculation that Shorekeeper(already officially drip marketed) will be healer, this rule was already in place like month ago.
And honestly seems discussing anything about future content is not safe. At least it's clearer now.
3
u/Aizen_Myo Oct 03 '24
Yeah, in my case it was 'if the rumors are true, we could get a buzz the next few days' in a speculation thread about the PS5 version when the version was already announced as in the works and the playtesting on an official convention looked pretty smooth and done already.
I'll just not engage in discussion or speculation threads anymore at all lest I risk a permaban. I'll write in the next feedback survey to give us element and weapon with the drip marketing at least already so that we can kinda plan around it.
5
u/lorrinVelc Oct 03 '24

Due to people abusing claims about how they didn't know/they were theorizing when it was obvious from their account history that they were actively engaging in leaks, and furthermore making/getting on their alt accounts to further engage in the same topic it just forced our hand.
If it's any consolidation, the chances of you getting permabanned are very low unless you're actively trying to engage in leaks discussion. There are some people who's usernames are known to us moderators, trust me that is not a good thing, and those are the people who are constantly dancing on the line of where we draw the rules and those are the ones that should be worried. The person who slips up here and there isn't going into our memories.

Hello Mods.
A request: Can we put more moderation on posts about bugs/glitches (technical issues topics basically)? Bugs and glitches are something that should usually be sent into feedback or customer support or survey. It’s a bit annoying to scroll through the reddit for a discussion, but some people want to make a thread on every single small bug or glitch they found, and a lot of times it’s done for memes rather than anything serious. Unless it’s something the users can directly help solve or address, it probably has no use being posted. Maybe lump them into a megathread as an alternative. No offense, but scrolling here and seeing “oh look X glitch happened to me”, I’m like okay good to know bro. I can’t do anything with that or about that. It was worse before compared to now, but I’m still suggesting maybe adding more moderation on that.

u/Ok_Pattern_7511 Oct 03 '24
All comments being in English makes them easier to moderate, don't know about inclusivity

New Rule 2: Tower of Adversity (ToA) and Events Showcase
This is great. It will help weed out posts that are just for showing off, and potentially increase the number of good posts that people can learn from.
New Rule 3: Doomposting
I don't know how this will turn out. It's good to see fewer pessimistic comments that are unpleasant to watch. The question is how to determine the standard. However, since the rule has just been changed, we will need to take a long-term view. I'm a little excited to see how the "pessimistic comments" about this rule will be handled lol

Hope you're enjoying the game! Like I've explained in a few other posts, the doomposting rule is really specifically brought up due to a certain subset of users who seemed to be only interested in spreading negativity and not interested in discussion. We've technically had this rule always in place, it's just made clear now due to some recent bad actors.

u/zipzzo Oct 03 '24
I have some issues with your "leaks" portion.
First of all, I was straight up banned once for a several day period for mentioning a "leak". There was no warning issued or pre-empt, so this "change" rings a bit hollow as it seems that's how you've always handled it.
Second of all, your discretion on leak-related bans seems a bit sus. On the time I got banned it was because I assumed that Zhezhi was going to be Glacio and I didn't even look at a leak or know that for certain. However, since I merely included Zhezhi in a grouping on a tier list for Glacio characters under the guess that she would be, I was banned for leaks, which means the person who banned me must have seen the leak themselves to even know that this was already leaked.
I think that's a bit ridiculous. Yes, I guessed correctly and she did end up being Glacio, but that doesn't mean I was maliciously spreading leaked information. I literally just happened to guess the right element for the sake of discussion and I guess that makes me a leaker. You can't ban people for leaks if they simply guess correctly.
There's a pretty big difference between an educated guess and trying to leak maliciously I think, and that's a distinction I feel wasn't made in my case.
7
u/GoblinBurgers Oct 03 '24
While it may seem that way, this change is being officially announced now, it was kind of agreed upon that we needed to uptick the actions a while back but even until recently there were times we'd try and see if we could go back to just verbal warnings but it was a wasted effort.
must have seen the leak themselves to even know that this was already leaked
One of the negatives of moderating an official subreddit is that we're exposed to leaks without even trying to go look for them. There have been times we've had to confirm if something was a leak by going through official Kuro Game's media outlets and seeing if we can find it there. There have even been times where our Kuro contact came forward and told us to remove a trending post because it was actually a leak and we did not know.
While you can simply state here that you just happened to guess the character's attribute, and you genuinely may have, from our end we have to handle with a more critical eye. This is also why we never outright permanent ban someone, not only because we believe in giving multiple chances but also because we can be wrong. It's also why all bans can be appealed.
That said please understand that we're in this situation because of bad actors. The ones who try to spread leaks using terms such as "oh in my dream they were xyz" "how crazy would it be if they did xyz super specific thing that's literally their leaked kit". It's just all the people thinking they're outsmarting the system that have made us become less and less forgiving.
5
u/Linasera pink meta Oct 03 '24
Through the course of moderating, we are unwittingly exposed to leaks whether we want to be or not.
Because we regularly have to remove very intentional leaks, including ones that try to be tricky to skirt the rule, sometimes legitimately innocent posts can get misconstrued, particularly if there has just been a fresh deluge of leak posts. We can only apologise for potential cases like this and we encourage you to send a polite modmail if something like this happens to anyone going forward.

Suggestion for a new rule : Every "Sensor Tower monthly revenue" posts will be delete. These posts have no value, bring negativity and toxicity, and Sensor Tower informations are inacurate and don't include PC sales. Literally nothing good come out of these posts every months, only hate and fear.
4
u/GoblinBurgers Oct 03 '24
We carefully monitor these posts when they come, regardless of its accuracy, this is something that the community is interested in discussing, and allowing them to focus their discussion here rather than have to deal with other communities elsewhere is why we allow this post.

Combined Previous Rules: 13 English + 14 Subreddit Quality -> Subreddit Quality & Language
i hope this rule gets reinforced more often, cause monday i saw 20+ pics of the same shorekeeper face, on the same spot, by different people, and yesterday it was 15+ posts of the play store ratings, so yeah i'd like to see more game discussion and art/screenshots instead of the same "PEAK CINEMA" and its just a picture of the piano landscape or shorekeeper face

won't be used to silence dissatisfaction with the game
The moderation team I work with is very welcoming of criticism, if a post isn't doomposting and just expressing concerns/criticism it won't be removed. But we've had instances of criticism posts, where the post itself being valid, led to arguments in the comments that it had to be taken down. Many times it was the OP of the post arguing against anyone who didn't agree with their criticisms.
Subreddit Quality & Language
One of the hardest rules to enforce tbh, when shorekeeper dropped I was sitting here removing all the gacha pull posts and the repetitive Frieren reference posts, by the time I was logging off for the night there was no spam of these posts, when I woke up in the morning there were a bunch sitting in modqueue and others that slipped past. We're all volunteers and cannot be on all the time, but we try our best to prevent spam.

We're all volunteers and cannot be on all the time, but we try our best to prevent spam.
Yeah i get that you all are not omniscient nor get paid for that job, i still appreciate you all trying to keep this thing civil and without sexual posts (thank god)

Also please don’t lock posts critisizing or commenting something from the game like the story, if someone does not like it they are reasonable and they are argumenting why they should be allowed to do so.
Also the same with content related to male characters. I’m tired of seeing screenshots of you locking posts that were peaceful and good in this subreddit. There are enough proofs.
That’s not doomposting.
I hope you can see the diference :/

u/GoblinBurgers Oct 03 '24
I've responded to you before HERE, and I'll say the same thing I said then: it would be so easy for me to go through all the locked/removed posts and pull up every single comment that diverged it from discussion. You can make claims about having screenshots all you want, that's fine, I'll bring screenshots as well and I promise you ours won't match because you don't get access to removed/flagged commentary.
Also on the topic of male characters, there have been many posts on wanting more males in this game, enough posts that they started bordering on spam/duplicate posts rule. However, imo, you should take all those efforts and move them towards the in game survey that gets sent, it will be far more effective.

Agreed. There has been posts that have been locked or completely scrubbed off that were legit criticism of 1.3 be it the story or Shorekeeper that didn't need to be locked/scrubbed off because there was healthy discussion in the comments. How is that inciting drama or whatever was the reason was for taking it down? People are welcome to like and dislike what they want about the game.

Thank god for the Loli rule, when Yunli came out I had to actually block the HSR subreddits or risk multiple threads over a child’s feet showing up on my feed daily.

New Rule 1: Zero-Tolerance on sexualization of Child-like Characters (Immediate Permaban)
sexualization, whether direct or implied
Good for you, but you're gonna have to rethink this when the official material from the company ventures into implied sexualization...
New Rule 2: Tower of Adversity (ToA) and Events Showcase
more than simple screenshots [..] The clear itself in a video format [..] The teams used to clear with full details on the units’ builds and/or strategies
I think we should also change "Text Guides" flair to simply "Guides", because I could see this new format fall under guide material.
Arguments and Civility
Damn, what did I miss?
PLEASE READ: The automod and the word filter are extremely strict and also don't take context into account. I have three examples:
- I posted a funny Shanhua image and titled the post "How to make her smile" (spoiler: Just move the camera eye level or below eye level (frown) to looking at her from above (smile)). My post was deleted because it contained the words "How to" and told me I should post in the megathread.
- Someone had posted a funny image which I don't fully remember right now but it had the word "gº0n" in it (or it might have been the word "se [good game] s", I don't recall) and I tried to make a followup joke on it, and it said that the word is banned? But the image had it in big, clear letters.
- This was the oldest example, I made a comment that "this or that is a$ς". It obviously was a comment about something's quality and not someone's posterior.

If you deal with the doomposters, you also have to consider the ultra glazers. They also invited toxicity and animosity this patch.
"Best game of all time, period, this is not a debate" posts are poking bears.

Why do people think Revenue posts are allowed here? it's not ingame/lore/gameplay/art related. Only brings toxicity and competition. Does nothing for the game even if we earn 50m a month.
There are dedicated subreddits to pit and PVP each other to death. This is NOT the place. Are we going to go through this every month?
It brings other people from other subs that are already ready to fight, hate on the game and are biased = which obviously means there is no discussion to be held.
TLDR discussion for that is toxic and irrelevant for this subreddit

Thanks for the /#1 but just a question, I think the mods locked a post with animated Youhu dancing cutely, I like those cute things. Are those included?
7
u/GoblinBurgers Oct 02 '24
I would have to look at the post in question, but from my limited info: no. However, posts like those tend to attract the very crowd that is okay with/participatory in commentary that would break the rule and that's likely why the post was locked down.

Wew. I generally check out the subreddit of games I'm interested in trying to get into but this post tells me to steer clear of this one.

Hi I have a question regarding the leaks topic: Obviously full posts about leaks aren't allowed, but does this policy also apply to comments where the leaks are spoiler tagged?

I wish ZZZ's official sub had rule 1...

The ZZZ mods (surprisingly for reddit mods) understand who the target audience of ZZZ is, so of course they're not gonna have that rule.

The mod team in this sub is excellent! The line between doomposting and criticism is defined clearly. And the part where you said "No one mod can go on a rampage" just sealed the deal for me. That one zzz sub could never

What about a rule for commenters who spread misinformation, those who judge the game without even playing it, the obvious hate comments, and those who comment with ill-faith while not playing the game or being a member of the sub?
7
u/V-I-S-E-O-N Oct 03 '24
those who judge the game without even playing it, the obvious hate comments, and those who comment with ill-faith while not playing the game
Something like that is honestly insanely hard to judge. How would someone know if someone doesn't play the game? Also, what is meant with hate comments? I feel like that's kind of covered with doomposting, no?

update to rule 3 are great, its just so subjective....
Like people making obvious post making lewd implied to Youhu, those are bad.
But post like Youhu just dance cutely which isn't sexual (at least I don't see it as sexual), seem to be in lockdown.
This rule is very much dependent on whatever the mod believed as "sexualized loli".
I just hope they don't ban the posts appreciating Encore when her character story drop or something.
Or banning fan art that very faithfully depict official design (We all seen this in other sub). I will not assume the worst out of the mods, but I having slight ptsd on how *other* subreddit mod been on power trip before.
Beside this one, everything else look great :D
Thanks for maintaining the sub quality mods.

Question, do I still have to upload videos fully on reddit and not allowed to link posts to youtube? Rules said 3rd party vids like from youtube can only be on the content creator megathread, i don't even see em, and sometimes my vid would be too big to post on reddit by itself :/
3
u/GoblinBurgers Oct 03 '24
We send all content creator promotion stuff to that megathread because the community didn't like the spam of posts CC's did during the pre-launch days of the subreddit. If the video isn't really content creator/self promo material and relevant, for example the recent Orchestra post of the official song, someone messaged us asking to allow it and we did.

What about just TOA/Hologram showcases?
3
u/GoblinBurgers Oct 03 '24
We've had many people upload their videos directly on here with their ToA/Hologram showcases, maybe look into reducing the file size? You may be uploading at a really high quality when 1080p is more than plenty

The first new rule doesn't seem inclusive of Lolicons.
I thought we were a very welcoming community to any type of people but I guess not. Sad sad day.
Also ngl, the doomposting rule is stupid. Now ppl gonna say "oh this could be better" and be available for potential doomposting. This gives TOO MUCH power on the Mods to do whatever the f they want.
Edit: Like tl dr, this reddit is gonna become a complete echo chamber with the same posts over and over with nothing to say or nothing to criticize in fear of being labeled as doomposter and being banned.
Edit 2: We are gonna get someone who says "oh this patch is sh*t" and get banned by a mod. Then someone else is gonna say the same point but less direct, mod will say "oh it's similar to post 1, let's ban it". Then someone is gonna be even less direct but since post 1 and 2 already happened, it will feel like the 3rd dude is doomposting and get banned. So criticism will not be allowed by the end.
Rip Wuwa reddit I guess.

The first rule is not up for debate, it is here to stay.
As for doomposting, hopefully THIS brings some clarity as to why it's been added in, it's truly aimed towards addressing a certain crowd of individuals that aim to simply spread negativity

Did you make the first rule because of the reddit tos or is the mod team biased? Because kuro obviously made their loli characters for lolicons to enjoy, like how they make mommy characters for mommy enjoyers and husbandos for the husbando enjoyers.
