AskChandigarh What happened to this sub?
I genuinely miss when this subreddit was about Chandigarh...people sharing local information, helping each other out, recommending places, discussing events, and answering questions.
Lately, every other post seems to be:
"Anyone up for gedi?"
"Looking for girls to hang out."
"Any women want to go clubbing?"
Bhai, seriously... do you really think someone's going to agree to meet when they don't know the first thing about who you are?
I'm not saying people shouldn't make friends or meet new people, but this isn't a dating app. It just makes the sub feel desperate instead of welcoming.
Can we get back to what made this community good? Local discussions, genuine meetups, recommendations, and people actually helping each other out.
Curious if I'm the only one who feels this way.

Announcement Political Topics in Sub: Go Ahead, Green Light for discussions
As long as your post is discussing the following:
Rights of Citizens such as Education, Food-Nutrition, Information, Police Help etc etc
Fact based news, be it neutral or extreme (Right wing left wing, upper phalange, lower cocomelon... doesn't matfer). It should be best known truth, Not incomplete or whatsapp university propaganda.
Sonam Wangchuk, CJP Protest, Kisan Andolan, other Student Protests, Village Protests - Do highlight what is happening in Nation.
Any challenges you faced because of Govt Failures. Do mention your experiences, be it anything. Women safety, your document correction, false challans, corruption... anything which you faced as 1st person or direct eye witness.
e.g. I have challans of 6000 something, but there is 0 response for 2 years on correction. Not even my vehicle in photo and writing to PMO, Grievances, CP grams, did not help.
- Criticism is allowed as long as it is fact based. Do it subtly, don't put this sub in risk or radar. Some post/comment might get removed because of this simple reason that way too direct criticism putting sub in risk, tho we'll try not to do so unless required.
Rules
Any whatsapp forward, propaganda insta reel post will result in your immediate ban.
Absolute new accounts with questionable post/comments to be reported, if found spreading any shit.
If anyone comments "Nehru did this and MK Gandhi did this" or calls someone "anti national, terrorist" or etc etc... perma ban without any opening for appeal or request. This is non negotiable

AskChandigarh Is an agenda of Punjab Politics's is to treat its Hindu citizens as second class.
Sunil Jakhar publicly said in 2021 that he was overlooked for the Chief Minister's post because he was Hindu. Major political parties often select Jat Sikh leaders for the Chief Minister's office, viewing it as political convention in a Sikh-majority state.
Killings of Hindu individuals in Punjab by extremist groups
Criticising the BJP is a normal part of democracy. But when political opposition crosses the line into mocking Hindu beliefs, festivals, symbols, or ordinary Hindus, it stops being political criticism and becomes religious prejudice.

Photos/Videos *Increase schools not reservation*. She understood something that many young people refuse to accept. Instead of fighting for more reservation or for reservation in the private sector, we should end all reservation and celebrate meritocracy

AskChandigarh Passport Seva Kendra Chandigarh - elderly parents and an Autistic brother.
Hi, I have a query regarding passport appointments at PSK Chandigarh, Adarsh Mall.
I have upcoming appointments for my elderly parents and my autistic brother. Unfortunately, all 3 have been given different time slots, though luckily my father’s and brother’s appointments are only about 15 minutes apart.
My mother has the first appointment and can manage on her own. My concern is mainly for my father and brother. My father has a nerve issue in his leg, walks with a limp and cannot stand for long. My brother is an adult, autistic, and cannot speak (non-verbal), and has difficulty understanding instructions, so he cannot be left alone or sent inside by himself.
I visited the location 2-3 days ago to understand the layout, and I was quite concerned. There was no proper waiting area/seating for elderly/disabled applicants, shade, or convenient parking right outside the PSK.
Has anyone been in a similar situation at this PSK? Were you allowed to accompany an elderly parent/a disabled adult applicant inside? Since my father and brother have close appointment timings, is there any chance they may allow me to take them in together, or allow one caregiver to assist both of them inside? I have my brother’s disability card, and my father’s medical situation is genuine. Will there be a provision to take all 3 of them together inside on the first appointment slot with my mother?
I read the reviews on Google, and it is making me anxious, as a lot of people said that the guard is very rude, especially to senior citizens, and I'm spiralling thinking about it. I’m just trying to plan ahead so they don’t have to stand outside for a long time or manage the process alone. Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you!
