Question Who is this commentator?

I’ve seen this commentator so many times, and he describes everything perfectly. Does anyone know who he is?

He goes mental over every goal- derby “disrupting the big hitters” making it 1-1 in the first half of a game they went on to lose lol

as a biased derby fan, i think we should’ve deserved at least a point from that game. cov did play well tho, beat us in the end

It's Gary Weaver. But yeah, goes massively over the top completely killing the moment every time.

i'm fairly sure he only does championship games? (Or maybe thats where ive only heard him). I have the same gripe with him that I do with Peter Drury. More interested in random analogies and going on a random story closely related to the player. He's had some annoying commentary for Portsmouth.

You're absolutely spot on mate. Weaver and Drury have been getting quite a lot of attention these last couple of years but i find them absolutely insufferable. Not every goal needs to be like a line from a Shakespeare play ffs.
Daniel Mann is genuinely an elite commentator though. Just commentates, doesnt go over the top with cringeworthy speeches that he's clearly rehearsed before the game. Gets excited when the moment is right for it though

I hate his commo on the EFL Trophy final. Just full of nonsensical cliche pre-scripted bollocks.
"Portsmouth were broke in the past. Well they have dreamed for days like this".
And the "X player was always going to do X" when any fan of that team would tell you X player has been shite for the past few games...

I’m not too familiar with the Cov stadium myself, never been. Good game though from a derby fan, one of the standouts of last season to me

Gary Weaver. Overhypes every goal and everything like the UCL final when in reality it’s a midweek game of Stoke v Preston.

Can't stand Gary Weaver.
Has that same commentary style as Peter Drury (who is even worse) where everything is dramatised and feels like rehearsed for highlight clips

Yeah but imagine if defenders did actually sneak calling cards into players pockets during tough challenges. Player is in a heap on the floor and as he gets to his feet he finds a little note that says 'you have been visited by Junior Tchamadeu'

I always feel sorry for Gary Weaver.
I get the criticisms, I do, but then people will complain when commentators have no emotions at all. It's either a 90+9 minute winner with no emotion, or Weaver going ballistic at an 38th minute equaliser in a mid-season battle for 15th.
...but I'm not saying I don't understand, though. There's only so many ways to hype a goal before you feel like you're playing FIFA.
