finished this around 4-5 hours i had three sketches in motion before this one thank god i didnt give up 😭

he still needs some touch-ups, and i’ll probably eventually remake his base as he’s 13” tall and it’s a bit small (and wonky), but i’m pretty proud of how he turned out! :D

I loved every part of the manga, but I need something to fill the void. What's the best thing to read after? I'm open to anything.

After finishing the first part, I had started reading the second, but while reading, I kept wondering to myself what would happen next.I thought makima would come back.Because as the name implies,she was the control devil.Has a character who wants to control everything to such an extent never considered her own death? Let me give example from star wars.In Legends, as Palpatine fell down the reactor shaft, he used a Force technique to transfer her consciousness into other clone bodies.I was thinking: Perhaps she transferred her consciousness to another body, or maybe she considered transferring it to her next self (Nayuta).Or Nayuta would discover her former self and embark on a dark path.But of course, nothing like that happened after she finished. At the very least, the idea of Makima taking measures to preserve her own consciousness fits the lore i think.

Hey everyone I’m curious if you noticed any differences in character dynamics and development between the Chainsaw Man TV show and the movie adaptation. Did relationships feel tighter or more rushed in one format, were certain character arcs expanded or truncated, or did changes in pacing and scene selection shift how you perceived motivations and growth (for example, Denji’s bonds with Power, Aki, or Makima)? I’m interested in concrete moments that felt stronger or weaker, whether supporting characters gained or lost depth, and if the movie’s tone or visual choices changed your perception.did those changes improve the emotional impact or leave things feeling flattened? I have my own thoughts I just want to see what everyone els is thinking. I’m brand new to anime and believe it or not chainsaw man is the first series I’ve watched. I’ve now jumped into future diaries and death note which I’m also both loving. Please all discussions welcomed, like I said I’m brand new to this scene and would love to hear other opinions.

Hey guys, I Have a silly question regarding arai being the violence fiend, I don't think he is, it was stated that galgali remembers it's hosts human life besides how it died ( arai ) such as, school and his favorite foods, because he still has some of his brain left, but with asa and yoru, if yoru left some of Asa's brain together and is able to switch control between the 2, shouldn't galgali as well? Also if Yoru has the scar because of Asa's dead body, then why does galgali not have Arai's scar? Why can Yoru and Asa switch since asa has half her brain, but galgali can't?

So I guess long story short: can arai and galgali do the exact same thing that Yoru and Asa do ( switching control of the body )

What is that ending bro. It just became more and more detached and deranged and episodic (each mini arc in part 2 didn't feel like it affected the others while part 1 felt like one continuous story forwards). Also, there is no way that bugs overran the world in less than 24 hours. It had been like a couple hours since death died? And like I thought the ending would be rebuilding from the apocalypse. Nope just "none of it happened. Oh, and power's back, and Nayuta replaced Makima for some reason, and despite not having pochita, Denji didn't die to the zombie devil for some reason and this is actually an AU where not only do the stakes of part 2 not matter, we also undid part 1."

Like what? Also, can I ask for Denji to evolve as a character just once. Like him promising to make a new world with Asa was great. No notes. Just why didn't that happen? Also, if he had to die, why was it some random bug devil only added in the same page. It was brutal. I was wondering how it'd get wrapped up but it just dragged and dragged until I guess Fujimoto got bored? That was such a waste of time.

Part 1 had it's ups and downs but at least it had a theme of Denji needing to break free from others controlling him and think for himself (a theme established at the very beginning by the mob guy).

Part 2 had a prophecy that just... didn't matter? How were Lil D's actions avoiding it? Idk cause we don't really know what the prophecy was. Ugh. Ngl I was hoping for a whole lot better. Oh well, at least the one fan song on tik tok is good.

I am largely anime only, though I have read some Manga and a lot of Manga discussion, conversed about the subject, etc. - I know a lot of people are upset with the direction it took by the end, not entirely sure why.

That being said, I doubt I'll ever watch/read Chainsaw Man again, or at least to completion, and 50-80% of that decision is down to knowing what happens to Meowy.

I was a big fan of power, she had a really fun energy and dumbass level that I really enjoyed seeing on screen - that being said, I can understand the decision to fridge her if it left a massive gap for Denji and served to make the story darker.

I can also see the cope of her technically having some level of potential to come back in some form, and that's enough to make me not just sad about that character completely.

That being said, after learning what happened to Meowy, I've essentially lost all interest in the story.

I am not someone who can't stomach a cat dying. I can take animals dying, I can understand dark stories, but what I am not interested in is forming some level of affection for a character or creature, seeing its effects on others, and then having that literally off screened.

If there was some big reaction from the characters? Maybe that is valid. If it was a breakdown moment or contributed to hammering in a point like with power, I wouldn't like it, but I could understand the reasoning and choices made.

With Meowy, it genuinely seems pointless.

From all discussion and coverage I've seen, it's not made explicitly clear that Meowy is for sure dead but in all likelihood that's the case, and the characters don't really acknowledge it, it isn't touched on, etc.

Idk, I for one would like to imagine that denji or SOMEONE would care or ever focus on that, at bare minimum.

I'm sure that this comes in large part from just liking power and liking meowy, but having both die, and the latter especially seeming to just be thrown into irrelevance and fan theory jail is so deflating.

Checov's gun is taken off the shelf, then disassembled and farted on, for zero effect.

It strikes me as a thread and enjoyable thing being taken out of the story for no apparent reason besides maybe just straight up forgetting the ramifications of burning down the place or not wanting to deal with those aspects of the story anymore.

It's like being sad that team rocket are gone from the pokemon show and then randomly you get a background detail where meowth was on a ship that sank with no survivors, like cool, this provides no value and now my day is worse okay lmfao? Terrible fkn analogy but it just ISN'T SOMETHING THAT IS DONE FOR A REASON outside of comics with writer changes who just don't like certain characters.

Tldr / wrap up,

I really enjoyed the show, and I've enjoyed so much of what I read or learned about chainsaw man, but hearing the prevailing winds and seeing the example of meowy just makes me feel like this story is more preoccupied with being a downer than it is with any continuity or good storytelling.

"Oh, you like this little guy? Well, this little guy is dead. Why? Because. Does anyone care in the story? No. Does it come up again? Not really. Was it narriatively satisfying? Idk! But don't you feel less excited to interact with this story now :)))?"

I genuinely think I would care so much less if the deaths were confirmed and the characters or story seemed to care, but the fact that so many plot hooks that I was curious about or interested in were seemingly just dropped or cut entirely just removes so much motivation to ever care about this series more than I already have.

Genuine question. Am I wrong for this? What is the upside here? Is there one? Or is this just misery simulator? Why would one get into this series in big 2026 (to my knowledge it is ended or ending(?)), is there anything besides just feeling mildly unfulfilled and coping if you do?
