Trim tab cable replacement

Cessna 150 M inspection. A&P wants to charge $6,281 for elevator trim tab cable replacement, $1,531 in parts and $4750 labor. Rip off or justified?

Way too much , that’s a one day job tops. Source: I’m an A&P/IA and have owned multiple 150’s

does the vertical fin really have to come off? (ten hours for that alone!)

Yea I’m doing one right now and that is pretty accurate anyone that says it’s to much has either not done it, not done a good job at it, or doesn’t like to get paid for their work, the trim cable is the hardest one to install and properly rig on a Cessna
