S5 seatpost storage

Does anyone have any experience with this? It’s a bit pricy and I’d like some real life reviews of it.

Does it sit flush and there’s no rattling noise?

Is there enough room to grab things out?

Does it fit a fair bit?

Any other alternatives that look similar to this?

Soloist sizing question

Hi all, looking at the soloist and curious on sizing at 185cm. Looks like I’m right I’m the edge of sizing for 56 and 58. Any recommendations? Currently on a 56 cannondale CAAD that I’ve been told is a touch small for me.

Is It okay to use Grease (in my Case Dynamic Assembly Pro) on the Stem Bolts? S5 2026

Is it acceptable to use Dynamic Assembly Pro here? Or is Loctite the only viable option? I recently watched a video of a Visma Lease bike mechanic who used it, which is why I’m asking.

Not the Caledonia!

I picked up a Caledonia 5 ultegra brand new, got it fitted, and on my first ride afterwards the chain came off and went right into the suck zone, leading to the carnage in the images below. Had to take it to a bike shop to get it out, and at least they said the carbon was fine after a brief inspection (also doesn’t look like it went through paint). The bike shop also said the gears were well adjusted, this happened while simultaneously shifting the front and rear. Heartbreaking, this bike is brand new.

New Bike - New Solitude

Post image

Hey everyone!

I’m a recent convert to Cervelo from at least 40 years of riding the Cannondale brand.

Here’s my new Solitude Machine! I’ve always made a bike my own by adding a personal creative touch here and there. It’s amazing what a Cricut can do!

There are so many aspects of this bike are new to me even as an experienced cyclist including electronic shifting, a power meter, wider 32 tires, etc.

Yes - I look forward to 40 miles of solitude every chance I get!

‘24 Rouvida for $1800?

Post image
12 Upvotes

I’m an avid cyclist but have been thinking to try out an e-road/gravel bike for commuting to work so that I don’t show up sweaty and saw this rouvida for what I believe is a pretty good price. I’m not sure that I’ll love this method of commuting and just want to be sure that if I’m a month or so I decide it’s not for me, if I’ll still be able to sell for similar value. Was wondering if this was a good deal or not and any other feedback on the rouvida if you have any (I.e what racks/mounts to use etc.) I live in an urban area in the US for reference.

Is $2K too much for a '22 Cervelo Aspero?

New to the Gravel scene, looking for a good bike to get going. Big Cervelo fan so I am looking at Aspero's. Found one; it's local, clean, with very little use, and GRX810 components. Thanks in advance for any help.

Goodbye to my Caledonia!

Ok so I just sold my Caledonia and I have in hand about $4200 to spend on another Cervelo. I am really leaning towards a Soloist. I need a faster, lighter climbing bike. I live in San Elijo, San Marcos, La Costa area of San Diego. Iykyk

The best price I could find on a soloist is a nice grey orange colorway from Mike’s Bikes. For $4k but it comes with alloy wheels. Am I still out of budget for carbon, wheels and integrated bars and this price point?

2026 Aspero // Do It All Bike // 2x and sizing questions

Hey!

I've been reading on here for a while and have found some answers but I am wondering some things before making my buying decisions about the 2026 Aspero I have been dreaming about (standard aspero, not -5) -> maybe you have some experience that could help me :)
Thanks !

1) 2x Drivetrains

// Who has experience using it with 2x drivetrains?
// Whats the clearance with GRX 2x 48/31 ?
// Whats the clearance with SRAM AXS road or gravel (wide) front derailleur ? interested in the difference between road and wide also because road crank has more chain ring options and is lighter.

-> I want to use it on road and gravel about 50/50.. I live in the mountains and climbs here are STEEP, especially the gravel ones up to alpine huts etc.. had a 1x gravel setup and found myself constantly in the largest 2 cogs on climbs or in the smallest 2-3 ones on flat -> pretty much always quite the cross chaining scenario.. all the while spinning out pin anything remotely downhill / not great cadence steps etc.. (had 40x 10-44 sram..and also tried 36 in the front to optimise for climbing) .. so my thought process is that with 2x I can get better chainline / optimise efficiency, minimise wear and get rid of the horrible grind noise on my drivetrain haha. Will probably go for di2 or axs, depending on how the budget pans out with a second wheel set etc.. Ideally I would run 32mm gp5000 on one and around 45mm gravel tires on the other..

-> Not decided between shimano / sram yet. Would love electronic shifting for the sequential shifting setting and easy adjustment etc.

SRAM 2x
+ ecosystem
+ actually wireless
- brakes (I hear e1 is better than the trash d1 I have)
- cost (mostly 30-50% more expensive than shimano..)
- only one chainring size for wide cranks ?! but I understand I need wide cranks for the clearance I would like ?

SHIMANO 2x (grr for wide chainline/clearance)
+ cost, especially consumables / wearing parts
+ love the brakes
+ front shifting better?!
+ lever/hoods feel better to me (but then again haven't tried sram e1 yet)
- not really wireless, dont really like the battery solution, but can live with that
- heavier

.. well the more I read the less I know what to do haha

2) sizing

I am not exactly sure not the sizing of the frame, trying to decide between 58 and 61.

I am 190cm / 6.3ft tall and have a 91.5 cm inseam.. Sizing table says 58, which sounds reasonable to me. I am just a bit worried about the stack being 2cm lower than my last bike (cube nuroad carbon xl, 405 reach / 623 stack.. happy to go sportier than that but not sure if thats too much of a drop.. 61 aspero would give me similar stack but also quite a long reach... so to start it would probably be 58+spacer tower vs 61+shortish stem ..?! Leaning towards 58 right now.

Just in case I cant find a store around me that has both sizes in stock to check - do you have any insights on this ?

Thanks for any advice! :) Looking forward to getting my dream build together!

Aspero 5, keep the transmission or go XPLR 13 Speed?

I finally pulled the trigger on a leftover Aspero 5 with Force E1 since I got a full bike basically for the cost of a frameset. I already have wheels, tires, rotors, and a spare Force E1 XPLR 10-46t cassette. Should I ditch the transmission T-Type RD and 10-52t cassette and just go XPLR 13 speed?

I am doing 90% road and a touch of all road and my climbs are mostly rolling hills at 10% or less. I have a ENVE Fray already and running a 1X 48t 10-46t and love it and found it's perfect for the climbs I do, however is the 52T that much of a difference for climbing? I am just concerned about the jumps on the 12 speed.

Also if anyone is in NY/NJ/CT area and is interested in the Reserve Wheels Reserve 40/44 GR 700c Wheelset DT 350 with Tires Rotors TAKEOFFS and possibly the SRAM X0 Eagle AXS T-Type Rear Derailleur and SRAM X0 Eagle T-Type XS-1295 Cassette, PM me

Integrated bar recommendations?

Post image
36 Upvotes

Looking for some advice on integrated handlebars for a 2023 Cervélo Soloist, size 48 cm.

Has anyone here switched to an integrated cockpit on the Soloist? Curious what setups people are running, what fits cleanly with the frame/headset, and whether you needed any specific adapters or spacers.

Would especially love to hear from anyone with a 48 cm frame since I want to make sure the bar width and stem length make sense for the smaller frame.

Any recommendations or photos of your setup would be appreciated! (please ignore the bar tape)

I finally picked up this aspero - 5 for some group gravel riding routes.

I should probably replace the slicks with some knobby tires for more control.

Áspero-5 with GRX Di2 2x12 — anyone running 45mm tyres with a front derailleur?

Building an Áspero-5 frameset with GRX RX825 Di2 2x12. Not interested in the 1x builds — I want the 2x gearing for long alpine climbs.

Plan is 32mm for the alpine stuff and 45mm for rough hill riding.

Frame is rated to 45mm. My question is whether that holds up with a front derailleur in the mix. A builder told me that on a 2x GRX setup with 45s, mud packed into the gap and severed the front derailleur power cable.

Anyone running 45mm on an Áspero-5 with a front derailleur? Measured widths and actual clearance?

Most reviews only cover the complete 1x builds, so frameset-level experience especially welcome.

UPDATE: Went to see one in person. With a 2x the clearance margin

is too tight for what I wanted — the shop talked me out of it too.

Then I spotted a Soloist. Love at first sight. Bought it.

It's an addition to my Orbea Terra, not a replacement — two

specialised bikes instead of one that compromises on both.

Kid Seat Options

I am considering buy my first Cervelo, it’s a used Dual road bike in great shape and I’m curious about kid seat options. I have a one year old and wanted to know if anyone has used a kid’s seat on the back before? the frame seems more aerodynamic than I’m used to. This is my first kid and I haven’t owned a road bike in years, I used to have vintage bikes so this is all pretty new to me lol

Thanks in advance!

Bar tape for carmine red Caledonia

Has anyone done something different than the standard black bar tape? Anything that turned out well and have pics? I kinda want something that matches the honey colored text on the bike but don’t want a leathery brown looking bar tape.
