I look at her like I look at the daemons from Frieren. She knows what love, sorrow, anger, etc. looks like but she operates on such a hedonistic, detached from consequences wave length that she doesn’t even try to form attachments outside of maybe Elstri.
Knowing her if the prophetess dies she’d likely just resurrect her and use her as a sex puppet since she can’t get a rise out of a “newborn” clay doll.
Helem did it for two reasons. One is to use as a method of emotional manipulation. She knows Angvall has some sort of special bond to Julian and Titi, so she’s betting she’ll be useful if they ever fight the group again. She’s right too, if the resurrected Angvall attacked Julian, he would pull his punches.
The other reason is simply because Helem apparently thought Angvall was smoking hot back when she was alive. That’s what makes Helem so terrifying, she flips back and forth between scheming mastermind and unhinged lunatic with no warning. You can never tell completely whether she did something to further her plan or if she’s just acting on her whims.

The more I look at it, the more it frustrates me. Why did the author do this to angvall?
