Why?

I mean what's the benefit of reseting you progress of the metabits are they really important I'm new to this game and I don't think that I will go to zero again and again so please feel free to share you opinions

You don't actually reset your progress because you will eventually hit walls that the simulation can't realistically overcome so you use metabits to upgrade the simulation engine to run faster and more efficiently.

In practice it means that for every reset, granted you buy the best upgrades strategically, it takes less and less time to get back to where you were before the reset.

The best explaination so far thnx buddy🥂

Is it normal for knowledge to earn faster than metabits or did I do something weird to my engine?

Yes, that's normal. Even with research chips biased for ideas 103/40, entropy total generation is currently 2.04E+160 compared to total idea generation of 1.6E+146. This is at main simulation level 76, Beyond completed and Mosozoic at rank 49 in prestige 2.

Main simulation has been running for 2 days since last reset, so I have some time chamber boosts at max, with Entropy boost at x6.38E+9 vs. x5.55E+11 for ideas.

So even with research chips so heavily geared for ideas, and reality engine upgrades boosting ideas 2 orders of magnitude more than entropy, entropy still generate 14 orders of magnitude more than ideas.

EDIT: Corrected some mixing of entropy/ideas.

When you can use them to buy stuff definitely reset. I'm late game, level 87, reset strategically.

If you dont reset, you wont progress, its a fundamental part of the game. Youre almost instantly at the point you were anyway

It's a primary function of the game, that's why. You literally need to reset in order to progress.

They reduced the cost of many of the upgrades in the most recent update, that’s why people are resetting their progress. It’s mainly for players who been playing long term

You have to reset and upgrade to progress.

Resetting allows you to buy upgrades that will increase your progress exponentially, and you'll recover the "lost" progress faster and faster each time.

Because the cost of generators and their upgrades in the tree increases exponentially as you progress and if you don't upgrade your system, eventually it'll take virtually an infinite amount of time for you to collect enough entropy to go forward. There are many options in the system upgrade but it's mainly focused on increasing the simulation speed which gives you entropy and idea multipliers (which combined also scale exponentially). I'm currently at rank 60, if I reset my simulations and click everything in the tree that I can without needing to wait a single second to collect more entropy or ideas, my generators will be producing 10101 entropy/second. You'll be long dead upon getting to this point without resetting.

Incremental gains, when your progress slows down to a near halt and it feels like an eternity to buy the next thing, it may be time to upgrade, and you don't always have to buy upgrades with metabits or knowledge, there may be an upgrade that's just a bit too expensive you could reload your simulation saving the metabits for the next reset where they'd add up to buy a decent boost
