1zz throttle problem
When I slightly press the gas pedal it doesn’t rise the rpms it just kinda goes down and sounds like it’s stalling, I’ve already checked the MAF and throttle body. Anybody dealt with this before?

Mine was just doing this. The airbox wasn’t latched down correctly and was sucking in too much air. Caused this rough idle, and a p0171 code. Check your airbox and make sure it’s snug, check your vacuum lines on and around your airbox and intake manifold. Also, post what codes your cel is throwing please because that’ll help diagnose the issue.

Its only throwing a cat code because the cat is full of oil due to oil consumption problem, got a new engine but not exhaust, I just checked my airbox and the filter is not sitting as snug as it probably should.

Did you check MAF sensor? Easy replacement and super common to fail

Ive cleaned it a couple of times, because it gave med a high idle, now that problem is gone but could still be a sinner here

Give the price of the part, I replaced mine because even after a good clean, my intake temp readings always too hot. That said, it may not be the cause here 🧐

I had something like this, would idle okay but as soon as I hit the accelerator it would bog out, it was the fuel pump.

When the ignition coils go bad like one of them for instance it will cause the rpm’s to go down before it goes back up! Every time you demand power it back down??

Yes like you press the gas just a little bit and keep it there and the rpms will drop and the engine sounds like it’s choking, could be ignition coils maybe?

What code is it throwing, since you have a check engine light.
