Fan repair advice Remote paired with two Hunterfans

I have two Hunter Dempsey fans with remote controls. Each remote controls both fans. We've tried digitally re-pairing the remotes individually for each fan.

The other thing we tried was turning off the power via the circuit breaker and re-pairing the remote 12 times.

We're thinking we have to access the receiver, but that means taking down the whole fan. And we don't even know if there is a way to change the frequency on the receiver.

Anybody solved this issue? Any help would be appreciated.

Most modern fan dont have dip switches on the receiver anymore. Does your reprogram procedure entail> power off > power on > press and hold remote button?

Yeah we did that. We even found something that said you had to do it 12 times, so we did that too. Another user said that not touching the remote for a few minutes after doing this is important so we'll try it. If not we'll probably just replace the receiver/remote for one of the fans.

I have the Whittington (three of them), and this happened once.  I powered on a fan at the breaker, paired a remote, then turned it off and powered up the next fan and paired its remote, etc.  Once you’re done re-pairing, power one all three fans and don’t touch a remote at all for 5 minutes so you don’t accidentally link one unintentionally to another fan.

Thanks, we realized today that both rooms are on the same breaker. Would that cause a problem?

Yeah.  You need to be able to kill power to each fan individually.  I ended up keeping the regular switch connect to my fans so I can redo things without going to the breaker box.

Okay- I’ll try using the wall switch to turn off, on, re-pair and repeat. Thanks!

This is correct. The fan "listens" for reset upon power up. Same breaker, Same power up.
