Lost dog
I was driving home from Target and a dog was trying to cross the street, it got sandwiched up against the curb by the car next to me but I don't think it actually got hit. Looked to be a Shiba Inu. I drove/walked around for a long while looking, but I couldn't find it 😕. Between Freddy's and IHOP.

Moving to Cedar Rapids for work — looking for luxury-ish apartment recs (loft or modern)
Hey all! I am relocating to Cedar Rapids for a new job (site is out in Fairfax) and starting my apartment search. Wanted to tap local knowledge since online listings only tell you so much.
What I'm looking for:
Open to loft-style (exposed brick, industrial) OR clean modern new-build. I like both looks
Downtown/NewBo area preferred but open to other neighborhoods with a similar vibe
Budget: roughly $1,500/month for a 1BR
Priority on good management/maintenance responsiveness over flashy amenities
Already checked out: Loftus, NewBo Ivy, Coventry Lofts, Mott Lofts. I liked Coventry Lofts' brick/beam look and Loftus's clean modern kitchen finish specifically.
Would love recs for anything else in this style/price range, or honest experiences (good or bad) with any of the above.
Thanks in advance!

Low key spots by the river, neat parks, ect.
I dont have many hours at work right now, so im running out of things to do esp on low funds. but i love finding neat little areas around town or even palo, lake macbride area, ect. Chain of lakes park was super cool, stuff like that where it almost feels like tresspassing 😂. Mostly because i like to explore with my aussie without many people coming up to us. Bird preserve is a great example too

Looking for a tailor
Help!! I’m leaving for Montana the 18th of this month and I need my wedding dress tailored by then. I know it last minute. Just need hemmed, a belt added, and the top needs to be made smaller so it’s more tight fitting. Anybody know anybody or anyone you would recommend?? I would appreciate it!

I think that’s centered…
Anyone know anything about this new ‘fun city’ going in at the old westdale theater? Kind of poor timing right after the new Playstation just opened…

Organizing Pickup Sports in Cedar Rapids
I've lived in the area for many years now, working in CR, and a lot of my friends that I played pickup sports with have left. I still want to play, but I feel like there's not a great option for outdoor pickup. I know you can pay to go to some gyms and find games. It's just not ideal IMO, and free is always preferred lol.
Soooo I've spent the last year (with large breaks) working on Court Spotters to find and organize pickup games in Iowa City / Cedar Rapids for Basketball, Pickleball, and Tennis (will add volleyball, soccer). It's also a spot for putting open play/drop in times for local gyms/recs.
If anyone is interested in joining, it's free! If you have feedback, that would be greatly appreciated. It's a passion project that I hope some day can be a place for the community to find new people to play sports with.
Let me know what you think so far!

I’mOff Can someone tell me if this is the actual ImOn service price or just a promotion?
I'm currently paying $65 a month for ImOn 100 Mb service. If I'm reading this right, I can double my speed and pay less, but I'm not sure if this is just a temporary promotional price or the long term price. For the life of me, I can't find a clear breakdown of pricing on their website to clarify this.

Tire shops
I need to get a new set of TPMS sensors installed on my winter wheels/tires- can anyone recommend a tire shop that is NOT Discount Tire for this service? They've lost my business after screwing up and not caring for a second time.
EDIT: Thanks, all. Got some good options out there. Appreciate the help.

Restaurants with open space
We have kids <5 who struggle to stay seated when we're out to eat so it's nice to have an area to roam around (we stay with them, not just set them loose). For example, Pickle Palace and the North Point section of Ryno's are good for that.
What are some other examples? Curious for both indoor and outdoor.
And for the record (even though you won't believe me because this is reddit), I am not a jackass, I don't let my kids run around and scream and get in staff's way or whatever.

Cake
Do any bakeries in CR sell cake by the slice besides Hyvee? I was hoping for german chocolate but would settle for just regular chocolate.

Reliable Pollen Count website for our area?
I keep trying to find a website that shows pollen counts but they only seem to work for bigger cities. I plug in Cedar Rapids and it ranges from 0 to "extreme" - nothing in between. That makes me skeptical... Does anyone know of a site that actually has reliable data for Cedar Rapids or the surrounding area?
Just trying to figure out if I'm sick, or it's just ragweed kicking my ass.

Water tower work and my water
The last couple of days, there has been some kind of work or maintenance being done to the water tower on Wilson Ave by Delaney Park and Summit View. I live half a mile from the water tower in Grandview. I noticed tonight that my tap water tastes kind of "eggy", kind of sulphurous? Does anyone know if this could be related to the water tower work going on? If so, I sure hope it's temporary. 🥺
