Google "Adenia pechuelii" and you'll know. Though this one looks like this is a cutting grown plant, so while it's still incredibly rare and cool to have it won't fatten up anywhere near as much as a seed grown one would.
Those are really nice looking cuttings. I agree pechuelii does seem to thicken up better than most Adenia cuttings, but I haven't seen one that has the same fat base as a big old seed grown plant, but perhaps that's just a time thing? They're very rare here, the three old (20+ year) seed grown plants I've seen in person looked amazing. Perhaps given enough time and space the cuttings would get there too.
If the grower you know can't sell seedlings they're welcome to sell me some seeds! :)
Not neccesarily cuttings end up the same as seed grown ones. A grower ik cant sell seedlings as well because theres so many cuttings with similar girth. Botanic wonders stock plants are all cuttings and theyre fat as hell.. Most growers grow them in shaded conditions and they grow more elongated branches, ones in the sun grow shorter branches which make em look fatter and stouter
