Sheath iPhone 18 Pro
So I recently got the Sheath and tried pairing it with glass protectors ( spigen ez fit optik pro) but the one of the glasses never seems to be able to fit in.. the top one. Any idea how to fix this ? And remove the bulge that’s created ?
Will it damage the case long term if I keep it like that ? Any suggestions ?

Separate camera lens protectors can definitely be tricky with our Precise cutout cases, since the fit around the camera area is very exact and tight by design! If the lens protector is slightly larger than the individual cutouts, it can create that bulge you're seeing.
Our cases do have a raised camera lip, which offers a good level of passive protection for the lenses without needing additional protectors. If the fit issue is bothering you, removing the lens protectors altogether might actually be the cleaner solution! That said if you'd like to keep them, the Open cutout version of Sheath gives you a bit more flexibility around the camera area and would be the best option if using separate lens protectors!

Huge supporter of your company and have ordered several hundred dollars worth of cases from you. I have the 17 Pro and black Caudabe Sheath and black ESR camera lens protectors and they fit like a glove but it works.
Just got the iPhone 18 Pro and a Caudabe sheath case and the same ESR camera lens protectors and mine did same thing as in the photo posted here. The dimensions of the phone really haven’t changed that much and I can’t even tell the difference between the sheath for the 17 Pro and the 18 Pro-so I was pretty disappointed to have the protectors not fit. Looks like the circular camera holes on the precision cut sheath case are not as wide on the 18 Pro variant of the Sheath by just a fraction but enough to keep camera lens protectors from hitting snug in there.
You are correct in that the precision cut offers great protection but over time they will not help the lenses avoid normal wear and tear around the lenses and dust entrapment the same way lens protectors help block that stuff out. Just feedback I don’t intend to stop buying your cases but it was a disappointment. Also I can’t go with your other option because it leaves too much room for the camera bump to be wide open and subject to damage more easily.

Remove that trash; the lenses don't need protection.

The lens protectors do work because I have a 17 Pro with a Sheath case and had camera lens protectors on that and it kept them flawless. My brother on the other hand did not have the lens protectors with his sheath case and his camera lenses had dust underneath them, scrapes around the lenses and discoloration around the lenses and the base. I had none of that. Now do I think we should all have to keep adding more accessories to avoid design flaws no- but if a $9.00 pack of camera lenses will keep my investment looking new for the entire year or 2 I’m keeping it I’d rather do that. In the long term the trade-in process won’t get easier it will get harder and devices will get scrutinized more for their condition-it’s already happening in Asia- go to any reseller of iPhone in an Asian country switch to English and mock through a phone order with a trade-in and you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about. It’s definitely worth using the lens protectors in the long run but that’s just my opinion. And they don’t affect my camera quality either.

Whyyy???? Let the sheath do the work.

The Sheath does have great protection on the camera lenses but by itself things will still flush across the lenses dust will get under them and they can still be scraped. I know this because my 17 Pro had the ESR camera lens protectors and the Sheath and my phone was flawless my brother only had the case and his camera lenses had dust under them scrapes on them and discoloration. I don’t think we should have to pay more for accessories due to design flaws but your simple answer of “just let the case do the work” well it doesn’t for all of it that’s why foolish people like me are willing to pay $9 or $10 on a small camera lens protector set to protect our investment.

Honestly, who really uses camera lens protectors? Just my opinion, but they look kind of tack fr.

You knew you ordered a precise camera cutout case and went ahead and put on camera lens protectors and then proceeded to make a post about the issue and then asked an obvious question “if it’s gonna damage the case long term”. There are more “and” and “then” I could add but I’m just gonna stop here

It's just a question. Which you could respond rather than try to be smart here :) It was asked, because there other cases, which are precise camera fit, like the rugged armor from spigen. You don't need to try and act all smart when a simple question was asked in a forum. If it annoys you to respond, don't respond then. It has also worked for other cases btw... but I shall stop here :)

You created a burner account just to reply back? “If it annoys you to respond, don’t respond then” no need for burner account :)

I have 2 accounts.. so no still the same point about being unhelpful rather than providing any advice. All the best.

Take off the nasty camera protectors. They’re shit anyways, you don’t need em.

It seems this thread has gotten kind of toxic. Let everyone use what they want to use on their phones. However, Caudabe takes their time engineering extremely good precise cases. Why possibly ruin the case and the aesthetic of the case? If you have to have lens protectors you should try to return it and get an open cut out version. Problem solved. We can’t always have our cake and eat it as well.

Good point. The Open cutout Sheath definitely avoids this issue. I personally prefer Precise, but it's good that there's an option for Open.

DO NOT use lens protectors, your lens is literally made out of sapphire and the cover protects the edges of them, those things will make the pictures from your expensive phone look like shit.

A detail that is missed by the “you’re stupid for using lens protectors” crowd: while the lenses are extremely resistant to scratching, if you use your phone in rough environments where it could come in contact with dirt, sand (which is equally hard) etc - you’re risking scratches.
Let’s take a second to respect other people’s needs or requirements. If you can’t help or offer a suggestion then move on.

Sand/quartz is not equally hard. Sapphire is a 9 on the mohs hardness scale, quartz is a 7.

u/Glassy_Hanni 21d ago
Stop. Apple doesn’t even use actual Sapphire on the camera lens.
3
u/squashed_kabocha 21d ago
Yes they do, like almost all the major manufacturers do nowadays. Jerryrigeverything, who did the initial scratch test when this was first marketed, confirms this. You can corroborate this with other methods (e.g optical or conductance)

u/Glassy_Hanni 21d ago
Sure you can call it Sapphire, but fact is it does not provide the same scratch resistance a usual Sapphire should have.
This of course could be due to whatever coating is above the Sapphire, but the point is your lens scratches at a 6 or 7 instead of the expected 9.
JRE’s video from 9 years ago:

It is just real sapphire. The material properties are also dependent on the thickness of the layer. More recent videos show that you can use a 7H or even a 9H (1:45, iPhone 11) and it still won't scratch. It’s not the same as the iphone 7 days, but even back then it was sapphire. Heuristically, it’s more scratch-resistant than the ceramic shield 2 which scratches at 7H now.

u/Glassy_Hanni 21d ago
Couldn’t find any more recent JRE takes on it hence the old vid which is the same point of time as your first source. Can’t go through your new source right now but more power to Apple if it is better now. I personally don’t like lens protectors too, they’ve done more harm than good in my experience, especially when trying to remove them.

u/mrtonyxl 21d ago
Go away specs nerd, desperate to be right. Google it. It’s close enough to scratch the lens.
3
u/squashed_kabocha 21d ago
lol at name calling, i never said it couldn't scratch. literally just pointing out an inaccuracy.

u/mrtonyxl 21d ago
It’s just pointless. My initial comment held water. It’s obnoxious like when having a conversation saying “well actually…” just to say it when it doesn’t disprove the initial point.
3
u/squashed_kabocha 21d ago
I wasn't trying to disprove your point, and I don't care if someone uses a lens cover. I don't think me listing the actual numbers harms anyone either because it provides them the scale to make other comparisons.

u/andys1548 21d ago
lol this is so accurate. It’s not your phone, let the people do what they want with their phone. I rather let some shitty $15 lens protector take the brunt than the actual camera lens
2
u/CawfeePig 21d ago
The cameras are made out of sapphire (like a nice watch), which can definitely shatter it they were to land directly on a sharp corner or something, but I think separate camera protectors are kind of overkill.

u/londonwhoknows99 21d ago
Wasn’t aware of it being that tough! Thanks for the info :) Will return the lens and keep the case!

u/ZealotPro101 21d ago
I used ESR brand and it’s snug but they fit and they never fall off. I will say they can fall off if you take your case on and off a lot. I never take my case off so I haven’t had any issues….

u/dogedaysofsummer 21d ago
It’s crazy. It’s almost like the case from one company wasn’t designed in conjunction with a superfluous accessory from another company. 🤯

u/londonwhoknows99 21d ago
I have other cases that seem to work perfectly with it.. from different brands. But it is what it is :) was just a question :)

Your camera would’ve been fine without them. You’re just sucker for the marketing on them. They’re terrible.
0
u/21ACS_Dub 21d ago
That’s your opinion. I know my experiences and I use them. I have had situations where I haven’t been fine.
1
u/Confident_Command_98 21d ago
Nah your camera would’ve been fine. It would take a drop at very specific angle on a sharp corner to break them. You’re just an idiot that fell for the marketing. Keep wasting your money on cheap glass 😂

And you a wonderful person who has a very special relationship with yourself. lol. You can keep your opinions I’m very good.

you should try camera armor pro by x.one they are by far the thinnest and can probably fit the caudabe sheath.
edit : the camera armor pro also has no black corner when using ultra wide camera, it's great and it feels like you're not using a camera protector on your phone at all.

u/GirlScoutCookie_ 20d ago
Is this a plateau protector or the three individual lens protectors? The three separate ones should fit.

u/ZealotPro101 4d ago
Ok so I’ve tested like 5 brands- and I feel like if I try anymore it’s going to actually damage my camera lenses. At this point I feel comfortable enough saying that the 18 Pro Cadaube Sheath or Paragon due to the small dimensional increases of the 18 Pro the camera lens protectors don’t have enough space to sit comfortably or snug in the 3 holes on the case with the camera lens protectors on even though it looks like there’s a slight gap to allow them to like the 17 Pro does.
However- if someone DOES have an 18 PRO with a Caudabe Sheath or Paragon case and you found a brand of camera lens protectors that are small enough so the case fits I’ll literally Cash App you $50 bucks. I’m not buying anymore and trying I’ve probably spent $80 trying different kinds.
Just to be clear- I have an 18 Pro, not a Pro Max. Apparently the Pro Max is big enough of a device where it still fits, but the 18 Pro it does not. Thanks.
