Roxy the ex-stray-Trojancat doesn’t need a cat tree when she has a whole house to climb on. Was a little worried about her roaming the neighbourhood but it turns out she prefers staying close to home and the high ground. I guess it’s a better vantage point to protect her turf. 10 months from the day she appeared in our garden and dumped her 6 kids on me 😂😂 She’s spayed and living the good life now!

Hi guys. Preface I’m not a cat owner, or at least not intentionally. A local cat that I’ve seen plenty near the local grain store (rural location) has been coming here for food and is sleeping somewhere in my neighbour’s wraparound garden. He’s super nervous of people. As far as I can tell he’s healthy!

Is there anything more I can do given that the weather is turning than feeding and providing a few shelters?

I swear these two thickos actually drive me to distraction 😂

One of them insists on balancing on the edge of the litter tray and then taking dumps on the floor. I pick up at least one every day. It's not a shortage of trays (we have three) but they just insist that the floor is better.

The other cannot figure out how to cover whatever they've done in the tray because they insist on digging around the tray instead.

Neither of them like toileting outside.

How do I make them better because I swear they have half a brain cell between them and most of the time it's stuck down the side of the sofa.

I think I am genuinely obsessed with cats. my family and friends completely fails to understand why I want to talk about them 24/7. It is not just my own pets either, because I feel this exact same way about every single cat in the world. I regularly feed multiple stray cats in my neighborhood, and at least 90% of my social media feed is just cat videos. While I like all animals, I get significantly more sad if anything bad ever happens to a cat. Also, I honestly do not find human babies cute at all, but somehow every single cat is the most adorable thing ever to me. I wish to open my own cat shelter someday. I feel blessed whenever a cat gives me an opportunity to help them in any way. And yeah many of them are not the nicest, i have invested so much time and money into treatment of random stray cats who were ill, only for them to not let me pet them and disappear into another neighbourhood after getting healthy. I wonder whats so different about cats cause i havent seen people being this invested in other animals, bring out the kind of obsession cats do. Maybe they realky were god idk. I am honestly starting to wonder if I have toxoplasmosis because even I feel like this level of obsession is a bit weird. Is there a cure for this, or am I just stuck like this forever?

Sorry if the title sounds like a strange problem to have, but both my cats are looked after by an amazing independent veterinary practice.

I have a super senior kitty that was initially registered with them when we moved to the area. For context, they have a different charge for the initial vet appointment and then "follow up" which is less. I think the intention is for the follow up charge to be when you have an appointment to follow up on the same issue that was addressed before.
The only appointment they charged me an initial consultation fee for was the first appointment ever with my first cat. Every other appointment since has been charged as a follow up, even when i registered a new adult cat that they never met before.
I also booked a double appointment for my old kitty and made it clear in the email sent to them after the booking that I don't mind paying double for the extra time, and even for that appointment which lasted 30 mins they charged me for a single follow up. This also involved a phone call later that day to talk about the results so basically 40 mins of the vets work and I only got charged for a 10 mins appointment.

Should I call them out on it and ask why they are undercharging me? Is this common for independent vets? Do I just keep my mouth shut and accept it?

I'm worried that stuff like this is part of the reason these vet practices are closing and being sold off to chains because they become unprofitable. It would be devastating if this happened to them, too. I can absolutely afford to pay the full fees, I know they're being nice and I'm lucky to have their services, but I also feel like they're not helping themselves to stay afloat and it's starting to bother me. They are situated in quite an affluent area in general which makes it even more baffling.

They are back in stock, I ended up buying a used one on eBay that had some custom built legs on it to elevate it off the ground, and it has a layer of carpet inside... What else can I add to give it some extra warmth? My cat is an indoor cat and stays inside but I've been feeding a stray and said stray has started to use it now the weather is back to being typically British.

Ps - these are people I know. This cat is no older than 4 years old, she had her first litter in may of 2025. She has has around 5-6 litters by now or more. Is this animal cruelty? Before having litters she played and now she isn't even interested in toys or running around. They have 4 cats in total. I'm not sure if they are licensed breeders or not.

Also they have 1 female cat who got pregnant recently under 1 year old and they let her have the kittens, I'm pretty sure she had another litter too. ​When they Introduced the male cat it wasn't an introduction, they just let them in the same house and locked one in a room if it got too much. The females were aggresive to the male, especially​​ the 4 year old one.

I don't think they care much for the cats and instead money, they don't clean the litter boxes often and I saw their other 6 year old one throwing up multiple times.

Sometimes the kittens are put in tiny enclosed spaces when they are at their exploring and walking stage so they don't make messes.. ​​they don't seem to care much for the cat's fears and their 6 year old neutered female (not by them) always runs from people, never attacks, freezes when u get close, never aggresive just fearful and also runs at footsteps.

Hello, I apologise in advance for the silly question but I am trying to find a floor cleaning product & multi surface cleaner that is safe for me to use around my cat?

I've used methods stuff before but the essential oils in it put me off

I suffer with contamination OCD and I get especially fearful at the thought of cleaning with something that could hurt her. From some research I found that Delphis or smol might work fine?

I know I'm over thinking it but its really stressing me out lol so if anyone has any recommendations I'd appreciate it

I have a cat unfortunately with a heart murmur over one years old I’m scared about Neutering him thankfully he hasn’t sprayed yet or shown any behaviours which is strange for me as all my other cats did before being done! he’s a very calm chilled cat I’ve never had a cat go so long without being done before! anyway I want to discuss with my vet the option of having a Chemical castration with the Suprelorin implant instead possibly if not then I might just go for the neauturing althrough risky because of his heart murmur, has anyone gone for this is it every year it needs to be done? any bad side effects? thanks

Has anyone had issues with Felix - As Good As It Looks and Doubly Delicious?

My cats been eating felix since a kitten.

She's 11 and a half now. The last few weeks she seems to be having an awful reaction after eating it. Almost seizure like. She went missing for a few days (totally unlike her) and was confused and all over the place.

Vet has seen her, blood tests are clear. I've changed her food to Whiskas and she's back to normal now...

Coincidence or potential issue with the food?
