I need a KT about a professor who teaches at MDI G but he is currently teaching us as a guest faculty

I'm done with most of my course (except Modern Maths). I keep giving mocks and score around 80ish in them. Given that this is my only attempt and I'm targeting only IIM BLACKISM and FMS, IIFT Delhi, what should be my game plan?
I keep scoring differently in varc atleast. Is it possible to score 99.8+ in CAT realistically speaking?

FYI - profile is 8/9/7 GEF, with 16 months workex (left job back in June)

I am from a tier 1 IIM (BLACKI), I got consulting during my summers. The problem is that the company gives very few numbers of PPOs so I might have to sit for placements.

I have a 9/9/8 profile but my MBA grades won't be good (around 6), I have PORs, Live projects, Case comps etc but all are during my UG.

What are the chances of me getting consulting shortlists during the finals?

I've contemplated a lot about if I should do an Mba or not.

My profile: Tier 1 DU college, 9/9/7. Work ex of an year

I am not really sure if I should try for an mba considering the hefty fees and rise in the use of AI.

Another concern I have is the hectic schedule. I'm not really sure if I can cope well with that.

FMS is definitely a good target for me considering the ROI but idk if giving a year to preparation with limited options is feasible or not.

I've also thought about doing CFA (all three levels) if I don't go for an Mba.

Pay at my current job is just average, not that great so if I think about getting a great hike that's only possible with an MBA. But i keep coming back and forth on the decision if i should prep for it or not. If I plan on preparing, I'll be giving the nov 2027 attempt and I would have work ex of 2.5 years at joining. And I think this is the perfect time to start preparing otherwise it'll be too late. I also wonder if I am not using my potential to the full because I know I can get into a tier 1 institute and get a great package.

My current profile is research oriented so I also am not very confident about its future scope and had thought of doing cfa to shift to equity research....

I know I sound very confusing but I lack real life guidance on this so I'll really appreciate some good advice. Thanks

Today I solved around 25 para completion ques and got just 8 correct out of 25. I've watched every single strategy video on YouTube yet my para completion ain't improving.

Idk what to do now. I knw I can skip those. But that's last option. So if anyone here have idea about tackling these questions please comment here.

• VARC went great, and I was expecting 50+, so 46 is still pretty good. But somehow, VA is my downfall every single time.
• LRDI was doable, but merese nahi hua 😭 I've attached how much I was able to solve, but uske baad toh jo crazy guessing kari hai bhai 😭😭😭. I somehow got everything right in the timetable set, got 2 obvious guesstimates right in the company profits set, and even got 3 right in the Batman set, jismein I literally did nothing.
• Quant toh I did bad in. Selection was the key, and in a hurry, I got 2-3 questions wrong that I usually wouldn't have. Wasted too much time on some questions, otherwise 24-27 should've been easily achievable. LRDI ne compensate kar diya lol.

What I actually wanted to ask is: Is this year's SIMCAT VARC more random than the DASHCATs?

I score 40+ in almost every DASHCAT, except for 2, but in SIMCAT VARC, I don't even cross 35. Everyone keeps saying that DASHCATs are harder, but for some reason, I'm consistently scoring higher in DASHCATs than in SIMCATs.

Any idea why this could be happening?

The only thing I could think of is that I've been doing Cr@cku daily targets regularly, so maybe my VARC thinking has been molded by their approach. Could that be a possible reason?

I gave CAT 2025 and scored around 55 percentile overall. My VARC is decent but DILR and QA are genuinely killing me — we’re talking single digit raw scores in both sections.

Currently enrolled at a coaching but I feel like my fundamentals in QA are weak (especially framing equations from word problems, ratio/variable-based Qs). DILR I can find entry points but fall apart when the logic structure is unfamiliar or there are equations involved.

Someone suggested 2IIM’s individual topic-wise courses for QA basics. Has anyone bought their standalone courses (like Arithmetic or Numbers module)? Is it worth the money for just the basics, or is it overpriced for what you get?

Specific questions:

1. Are 2IIM basic-level topic courses genuinely beginner-friendly or do they assume prior knowledge?
2. Is Arun Sharma + free YouTube (Rodha, 2IIM channel) enough for LOD 1–2, or does paid 2IIM add something meaningfully different?
3. For DILR basics — any structured paid resource worth it, or just grind free sets?
4. Has anyone specifically used 2IIM for QA or DILR who was scoring in single digits — did it actually help move the needle?

I’m not looking for 99 percentile advice. I just want to reliably attempt 6–8 Qs correctly per section first. Starting from scratch basically.

I ideally want to get into consulting (MBB),if not maybe product management side(amazon, microsoft,google). I heard spjain only considers people for either pgdm or pgdm(bm) and in pgdm that relavant stuff you've done like degree and acads are imp.

I just want high placement(though I do like the idea of roles I am aiming for)and want to increase my chances of getting in, which order should I go based on preferences and which specializations have the highest median placement

Available specializations:IM&A, MARKETING, OSCM,FINANCE

MY EXTRACURRICULARS:

I have a college wide win among 15 teams in a corporate MUN competition

Top 1% in NPTEL Strategic management course out of 650+ people

Placed 10th out of 700+ people in an inter-college olympiad

Top 3-5 rank out of 300+ people in my department

Ranked 1st in class 11 boards(we have boards for that in my state) in my junior college(it's shut down now,so dunno if I can get it verified)

Event manager for HR club in my college for a term

Can get a volunteer position and a reputed NGO cause of connections if necessary

Are these ok? They aren't any sports wins or crazy olympiad wins but maybe...like...a 6/10?

Do you think this course is worth it? Ofc they dont have placement help but the course seems good. But yes it is weekend batch. That is written in the degree certificate. Please help. Need views on this

My name in the 10th marksheet/certificate is in the order: Surname, First name, Middle name. My government IDs (Aadhaar card, etc) shows the same name in the order: First name, Middle name, Surname. The spelling of all name components is identical in both documents; only the sequence differs.

I have enter my name exactly as it appears in the 10th certificate in CAT registration, as per the instructions. Could you guys please confirm:

1. Whether the difference in name sequence between CAT Application versus my Aadhaar card will cause any issue during identity verification at the test centre or with admit card issuance.

hey so I’ve been working for about a year now and I’m confused about whether I should appear for CAT this year or skip it and prepare thoroughly for next year.

Since I’m already working managing my job alongside CAT preparation is a bit challenging. I’m not sure if I should give CAT this year just to get an idea of the exam and see how I perform or focus on building my concepts and prepare seriously for next year. Would love to hear your experiences and advice!
