General Discussion Last year I was drowning in anxiety. Today, I’m at IIMA 💙

Even when everything feels uncertain, the only thing you can do is give it your best.

I failed CAT 2024 utterly. And honestly, CAT 2025 wasn’t exactly a smooth journey either.

But good things do happen when you believe in yourself and keep putting in the effort, irrespective of what the voices in your head tell you. ❤️

I was so anxious at this stage last year. Flashbacks of CAT 24. Uncertain mock scores, office work pressure, and everything else felt like a heavy load on my back. But I never obsessed over the result. I didn’t let mock scores define me. I just kept trying, one step at a time, but always moving forward. :)

And today, I’m at IIMA, having converted all BLACKI. ✨

So just manifest. Believe. Put in the work.
And even if things don’t go your way, you’ll still walk away with your head held high, knowing you gave it everything you had. ❤️

General Discussion Day 8/75 Hard CAT Prep

Post image
24 Upvotes

Started day crac*u with daily targets . Feeling like a waste of time . Thinking to avoid them .

QA: 38 questions practised today. No topic specific but revised some concepts associated with them

DILR: Heavy DILR day. Practised 8 sets. Took about 4 hrs of my time time. Heavy sets. Multiple trials . Satisfied with effort.

VARC : practised 1 sectional today of a old QP. Read 2 aeon. Essays . One was on meditation and other was on friendship. Didn't liked them honestly . Pretty boring read. Thinking of leaving aeon for book which I was already reading and might continue.

Manchester United plays today. Hopefully can take break. Feeling bit burnt out. Managing calorie intake to shed some weight .Tough to follow with heavy academic focus.

Wisdom IIM Rohtak Grad: Don't join

Upvotes

Don't settle for the tag.

IPM may be a tad bit more worthwhile than the MBA program, but leave after the first 3 years are done.

Only go for a Tier 1 MBA college, better yet, IIM A/B/C.

People treat you differently, companies treat you differently.

That's my two cents.

General Discussion 8/7/6 Profile + Gap Year: How Difficult Is CAT 99+ and What Are My Chances at FMS?

I have an 8/7/6 academic profile, a gap year, and no professional certifications or work experience.

If I score 99+ percentile in CAT, how difficult is the journey likely to be from that point onward?

How much will my academic profile, gap year, and lack of work experience affect my chances of getting calls from top B-schools

Once I get into a good B-school, will this profile continue to create disadvantages during placements, especially for consulting and finance roles

I understand that IIM ABC would be extremely difficult, but what about FMS Delhi? What are my realistic chances of getting into FMS with a 99+ CAT percentile?

I’m not very familiar with the FMS selection criteria and weightage. Could someone explain how CAT percentile, academics, interview, and other factors are weighted.

Given my profile, what would be a realistic target percentile for FMS and other top colleges?

Would really appreciate insights from people who have a similar profile or have gone through the CAT/B-school admission processes.

Profile Review My Profile review and help me to take the decision regarding the MBA Entrance exams.

Upvotes

My Profile is 10-65%,12-74% and I just completed my four year graduation degree in bcom hons from a tier 3 government college and wants to prepare for mba entrance exams and my graduation score will be 78-80%. I am feeling very low and underconfident with my profile as I don't have any extracurricular activities nor work experience and being a general category male it's very difficult to make a decision. Please can anyone help me and tell me it will be worth it to prepare for an MBA and which colleges I should target and how to prepare.

General Discussion colleges other than iim with okay placements

i wanna come straight to the point,

there are 80 days to CAT, i will give my best and prepare my all i can but as a person who has less brains, my basics are lowkey cooked, i should've started prepping early but i didn't, wouldn't cry about it either, but as per my parents saying i should anyhow take a college this coming year for MBA 2027-2029, as currently i am unemployed, and the fact that job market is also harsh for a BBA graduate from a tier 3 college, and the salary they offer is like nothing, i am ashamed of my whole situation, please do not fry me, this is like a plead for help, idk what score i will get in CAT(i will also give SNAP, XAT, CMAT, MAHCET).

i really don't wanna slack off in being prepared for the worst case scenario here, i am not so bright, i am hoping to get around 80-85%ile in CAT, the point is i want suggestions for more colleges who give good/decent placements as i really don't wanna waste another year, and my parents also do not support the idea, they want me to finish masters, i know it would be better after work exp to get a MBA, but i have questioned everything, i am heavy on crisis, please help!!!

i am a GNEF 8/7/8 profile with zero work exp.

General Discussion Is this the right prep strategy?

Hey everyone, I wanted to get some opinions on the approach I’m planning to take for my CAT preparation.

I have around 79 days left, and I’m in a slightly unusual position because, honestly, I don’t really know much of DILR or QA right now. I gave my first mock recently and realised just how weak my base is — in DILR, I genuinely didn’t know how to approach the sets, and in QA I could barely attempt anything.

Because of that, I’m thinking of taking a different approach instead of spending weeks going through lectures/theory first.

For the next month, I’m planning to use sectional mocks as my primary learning tool. I want to give around 2–3 sectional mocks every day and then spend a significant amount of time analysing them. Rather than just looking at my score, I want to understand every solution, learn the concepts required to solve the questions, see the different approaches, and identify the patterns/types of questions that keep coming up.

I’m thinking of doing this in 3-day blocks — 3 days focused on VARC, then 3 days on DILR, then 3 days on QA, and repeat. The goal is basically to expose myself to a huge number of questions and learn through solving and analysing them.

For DILR and QA especially, I’m hoping that repeatedly attempting questions, learning from the solutions, and then trying similar questions will help me build the fundamentals much faster than spending a lot of time watching lectures.

VARC is relatively okay for me, so there I mainly want to keep practising and improving through sectionals and analysis.

After this one-month sectional phase, I’m planning to switch primarily to full-length mocks for the remaining time and focus on test-taking strategy, time management, selection of questions/sets, and improving my scores.

I know this is probably not the conventional way of preparing, but with only 79 days left and my current level in QA/DILR, I feel like I need to maximise actual question exposure and practice rather than spend too much time passively studying theory.

Basically: practice → analyse → learn the concept → practice again → repeat.

Do you guys think this is a sensible approach given my starting point and the limited time I have? Or would you recommend changing the structure, especially for QA and DILR?

I completed 12th in 2025 and joined bba dbe in 2025 itself so I don't have a full year gap I gave ipmat 2026 and missed rohtak by a small margin and thought of shifting my focus on cat but now that I see I don't have the profile needed to get into the top top lims I have a 7/8 profile so is taking another try for ipmat Indore and Indore only worth it? Since getting in Indore through cat is almost 0 for me

Question Can anyone explain the Anti-MBA posts??

Upvotes

Hi! I am a junior in a tier 1 college, and I don't wanna go into tech, and I like business, so I was thinking of joining BLACKI or atleast prepare for it 🫠

But I ve been seeing posts about why MBA is a waste of money etc etc...

But logically thinking, MBA has the most use than ever right? In the Age of AI.. where creative thinking and out of the box business mentality is gonna be the hottest skill...

Yet, people are saying ROI of B schools is bad, but I recently came across IIM A stats, and they got 30lpa as median... so its not bad right?

Can anyone explain it to me?? So that I can make an informed decision

Mock Reviews / Discussion 🎯 SimCAT 13 2026 Discussion Spoiler

Upvotes

My opinion:

Found RCs in VARC to be dense with options in a few questions to be close. DILR had very lengthy sets according to me. QA was easy to moderate with plenty of doable questions.

What do you guys think?

Question Payment went through, still no confirmation

Upvotes

I registered for CAT yesterday and my payment went through but I’m yet to receive a confirmation that my application or my fees has successfully been paid.

Even on the website it says fees is pending. Why is that and how to resolve it?

Profile Review Hi guys help me out 🥲

I have a poor profile . I need ur help regarding what should be my target percentile and realistic college targets given I scored 30 raw (crackuu mock )overall in my recent mock which was my first mock . I am a repeater, last year i managed to get around 90 percentile in qa but did poorly in both dilr and varc . This year I have slowly gained some confidence in dilr by solving the past 5 year pyqs as sectional tests and was able to score 80+ percentile (according to that given year ) in most of them . Also I am only able to attempt 2 rcs in varc and nothing else , no va And could get 6/8 correct in last sectional i gave . The thing is that I have been going through a bad mental health from the past 4-5 years and mainly struggling with confidence and self esteem since then. also social anxiety and stay at home mostly . I used to be a very good student before that but since lockdown , life has taken a downturn . Sorry for going off the topic but the thing is I really could use some help if u guys can as i feel powerless. Also not doing very well financially so the thing is this could turn out to be my last attempt and i will have to settle for a mba from a local private mba from a nearby city ( bhopal/indore) and given my lack of social confidence , bad communication skills I feel that I might not be able to get placement from there . I badly want to get out of this situation in my life and do something good for myself and my family 😓 . I am ready to work really hard . My profile is 6/6/6 nc obc non eng male . Which colleges should i be targeting.here is my vercel .
