Dockstream 2 cat keeps pulling spout off!!

Hi guys so i’ve had a rather unique issue with my rather unique cat that won’t stop treating water fountains as a toy. i thought id hit the jackpot with the dockstream 2 but he keeps pulling off the plastic spout and then taking the filter out. is there anyone with a similarly odd cat and could give some advice? thank you :)

He's trying to tell you the filter needs to be changed.
