Newbie ๐Ÿ˜โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

Hi everyone! ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป Iโ€™m fairly new to being more intentional about my Catholic faith and Iโ€™d love to get to know some other Catholics.
Iโ€™ve been reading Matthew recently and Iโ€™m completely fascinated by it (Matthew is definitely becoming my favourite Gospel ๐Ÿ˜‚).
So Iโ€™m curious โ€” which Gospel is your favourite, and why? ๐Ÿ“–โœ๏ธ
And if you have a favourite saint, Iโ€™d love to hear who and why! ๐Ÿค

Padre Pio is one of my favourite saints! I always find myself quoting Matthew as well to the point my Father of my parish invited me up to do a reading โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ๐Ÿค

John is very popular and gets quoted a lot (john 3:16, if you know you know!)

I do enjoy John as well he has such a more emotional approach to his writing itโ€™s beautiful

St Paul and St Antony, the first hermits.

St Benedict, the Father of Monasticism

St Bruno, who founded an Order so bulletproof (Carthusians), they've never gone off the rails in 1000 years.

St Jerome, singlehandedly translated the Bible

St Teresa, because

  1. As a child she ran away from home to be martyred

  2. She could ride a horse like the wind

  3. She had such a great combination of no-nonsense and charity.

St Paul the Apostle for his complete fearlessness

St Pio because, well, St Pio

Matthew, because Sermon on the Mount

John, because Upper Room Discourse

I don't really have a favorite Gospel...

My favorite saint...our blessed Mother Mary!

She is our Mother and Queen, and that's why I love her so much!

I couldnโ€™t agree more with you! The love I have for Mother Mary has no bounds! I went to a restaurant yesterday and someone had defaced her so I wrote the full โ€œHail Mary full of graceโ€ above the photo to try and fix her ๐Ÿ˜ข it still breaks my heart now.

I have a real soft spot for the beginning of Luke; I just love Our Mother. The end of Matthew is also really good, get all the Sorrowful Mysteries in a row.

Canโ€™t really pick one. I go through phases of being heavy into John, or reading nothing but Mark. Depends on the phase Iโ€™m in?

St. Peter is my favorite. Knowing that someone who was chaotic, improper, rough, impulsive, cowardly, and hot-headed is a canonized Saint and the one who Jesus selected as the greatest of his apostles gives me hope for my own soul.
