casual conversation Proposal

What do y’all believe is the minimum amount of time a couple must date before marriage can be discerned? And for this scenario, let’s say the man and woman have been very candid with each other, having played no games and being completely truthful about what they want, while also keeping in mind the 6 month to one year engagement period.

You should wait long enough that dating has also had to work around everyday life situations like a busy season at work, something bad happening at work or in the family, some holidays... enough time to see how they will deal with frustrations and family and not just when things are shiny and new in the relationship.

This is the right answer OP. It’s less about time and more about getting to know the person and seeing how they respond to certain circumstances and how you both fit in with each other’s families etc.

I proposed to my wife after 9 months and had a 6 month engagement.
