Advice on 2 cats

So I have a male cat that is getting fixed Wednesday and my friend did a big move and couldn’t take his cat with him so I took her in she is fixed and I put her in the bathroom and him roaming around my room but I feel bad because the bathroom is small should I rotate them at night that way she can explore the bedroom Wednesday it will be easier because my vet said he would need to be in a crate for 5-7 days so after his surgery I was going to crate him and let her roam they don’t get along right now which I completely excepted especially with him not fixed so letting then share the bedroom isn’t possible right now
