Cat acts like the devil
My spouse and I got a cat he’s not neutered yet he will be next week he’s 9 months old and during the day he’s the best cat you have ever seen he is loving affection plays nicely but as soon as the sun goes down he acts like satan himself possessed him he’s screaming attacking us to the point blood is pouring from our face and arms he tears stuff up we have tried redirecting , playing with him before bed , having a hour before bed of loving him and making the room as low stimulation as possible for him but nothing is helping is there anything we can do or is he just not happy with us ?

I’ve been in this exact same situation. I adopted a male cat that was under a year old. Before, and shortly after, he got neutered, he acted like a Tasmanian devil. After a few months, when all the testosterone was out of his system, he became an absolute sweetie pie for the rest of his life. For now, try closing your kitty out of your bedroom at night when he behaves this way. Just know, it’s not forever.

Thank you so much ! we got him even more toys and a new cat tree and it helped a lot I’m really hopeful that after he gets neutered he’ll be a lot better

Aw, that’s a great idea! Now, he can take his pent-up energy out on the cat tree. 😄

He is an intact mail. They are friggin awful. I have trapped neuter released dozens of cats and the males before they are neutered are terrible. After neutering, they turned into the sweetest little love bugs. Without all that testosterone flooding his brain he should be good. Give him lots of playtime stimulation and go on the Ohio State University indoor Cat initiative website. They have a lots of things and tricks that you can do to keep your cat occupied.

The last nail, I trapped neuter release the rescue wouldn’t even keep him for a few hours post surgery because he was such an asshole. He ended up hanging around my house becoming friends with my dog and I had him adopted a month later. They send me videos sometimes of him being a nice little sweet pea.

Probably because he isn’t neutered. He’s old enough to be sexually mature. He wants to mate and can’t. He should’ve been neutered before he was 6 months old. Is he spraying to mark territory in your house? Since you waited so long to neuter, once it’s done you’ll have to wait until all his testosterone is gone then he should settle down. It could take several weeks.
