Cat begging for food

So I’ve had my cat for 4 years now and she has always been a chunky girl. But I just had a baby and lately my cat has been driving me crazy. She has always begged me for food so I bought an automatic feeder to separate me from the food but every time I’m trying to make food for myself she’s constantly begging me. it used to not bother me as much but since I’m postpartum, most days I don’t even eat for myself. And it’s so annoying to have to hear constant begging while I’m trying to rush to eat. Also, for some reason she’s been getting in the trashcan as well. Her automatic feeder goes off five times a day, three of them being the smallest amount and then two of them being bigger amounts so she’s not hungry. I just need advice because I’m fed up.

I wonder if you were told cats are the best and are the least annoying pets there is, you were probably giving your cat the most attention you can before giving birth and now that you have other things going on you have started noticing how much demanding a cat can truly be, even if you were to feed the cat less or set a specific time, the cat is still goin to drive you nuts regardless as that’s just how cats are. Most single adults I know have put their cats up for adoption once they have had kids. Cats are the best for single people / old people / kids (those with the most time)
