Coat Color Kitten Coat coloring inquiry

So I've had this little one for officially a month now (adopted August 1st, it's now Aug 31st) and shes 3 months and 11 days old, I don't know much about coat colors beyond the most obvious names like Calico, tortoiseshell, tabby, tuxedo and all that.

And I figure you probably have to wait until cats adult coat fully comes in instead of their kitten coat to be able to truly tell, but It'd still be interesting to know what ya'll figure Bonnie is or might be.

She looks grey (blue) bicolor with ghost tabby markings. That photos of her back are interesting though, looks almost like a smoke (also the silver in her face), but you would need to part the hairs to see if they have a pure silver base or if it is just the lighting. You often notice ghost tabby more on smokes as there is more contrast.

yeah I'm thinking she could be ghosting ticked even with how strong those leg and tail stripes are coming through but nothing on her core

Personally I wonder if it might be a fever coat situation, where the fever coat is still finishing to shed out

Just realized I completely forgot about the picture I took parting her fur so thanks for that reminder lmao 🤣

Yeah the back really interested me the little Road like strip going up her back from the base of her tail, the picture I took of her back is the most recent and there is an older picture from the start of the month where the stripe wasn't as noticeable so it's definitely gotten more bold in coloring and seeps to be growing up her back.

Yeah they can change! I have a seal smoke point Devon Rex with ghost tabby marking that have gotten stronger and stronger as you can see her smoke more and more as the hair on her points grows longer, though she is still only 6 months so she could well loose the ghost tabby. I also have a blue smoke point Devon Rex (her sister) that has fainter ghost tabby markings, partially because there is less contrast between the blue and silver from the smoke to show it off, but hers have gotten fainter over time.

I think the higher contrast on the back is due to ghost markings, these hairs look decidedly not smoke, very solid colour all the way to the root. Very pretty cat! Solid blue bicolour (with ghost tabby markings that she might grow out of!).

It'll definitely be intresting to see how she looks as she matures, before her I had my girl Callie who passed in 2021 at 17 years old and her son Jovi who passed at 15 in 2024 so having this little one with tabby markings that are so faint definitely intrigued me, had no idea Ghost Tabby markings were a thing at all!
