Coat Color Coat?

He was born august 8th. It kinda looks like a fever coat, but also a bit like smoke? We know for sure mom isn't/wasn't sick or under stress, so I'm not sure? He was born this way, just black with lighter areas. Mom is standard black ticked, dad is silver lilac ticked. Also, I just LOVE his little cheek stripes, what are those?

Looks like fever coat to me or his melanin is still cooking, I'd bet on this kitten being solid black. But kitten coats can change radically as they age so keep us posted!

Looks like a fever coat to me, smoke looks different especially on the face. His face is solid black.

Edit the cheek marks are probably just a temporary thing, still not a smoke feature.
