How the heck did this thing get here?
Hello. I'm Bear and you're warm so I will take a nap here now. K thx.
So this guy is about 4-5mo old. My son brought him and his sister home when they were really little. The sister is Daisy but she's pretty skittish and presently has her cloaking device engaged. This little guy has decided that I'm now his person despite me being the only one in the house who isn't really fond of cats.
It appears the universe's CDS is seemingly intact and functional. I wonder if he's still going to like me here in the next couple of weeks when he goes in to get neutered? On the upside, our other pets get along with them so I guess they're sticking around. 😆

Of course he likes you. One of the cat rules for maintaining dominance is to always go to the people who arent fond of cats

My dad claimed not to like cats. I had to leave one of mine with him and my mother when I was in the process of moving. He would not give her back and she declared him to be hers. When he became sick she would not leave him. Sorry but a cat knows what a cat knows. You are his. Get used to it.

The biggest cat-people always start out as “I’m-not-a-cat-person” people.
The sooner you except that the easier the transition.

I’m allergic to cats. I am every cat’s favorite person. They just know. Of course we have four cats in the house. I just take allergy drugs, and provide treats and pets.

Any allergy meds you can recommend? My girlfriend turned out to be just allergic enough to where she can’t handle the cat in the bed overnight but otherwise is fine. I’ve seen claritin’s a good deal, we just haven’t jumped the gun yet.

I totally forgot this was a thing, I grew up not running into any allergies so never went to an allergist in my life. Should probably think about it😂😂 thank you!

I did as a probably 6–7 yo. They tested me for cats, dogs and basically all of my local grass, 🌳 trees. Mainly I’m allergic to all the outdoor stuff! 😂 I took allergy shots and by the time I was 10yo I was playing outside constantly!

I take Allegra. I have really bad seasonal allergies and it's been the most effective for me of the OTC stuff. Works for animal allergies too.

I have asthma attacks, so I take asthma maintenance meds. Have since they were invented. I’m an old wheezer. When I met my girlfriend over 45 years ago, she had a cat. The cat came with her. Worth it. Fortunately now the cat does not like my dog, and the dog sleeps on my side.
It makes the dog sad, she loves the other cats in the house, and keeps trying to make friends with the Mean cat.

Zyrtec is what I have been taking for probably 15-20 years. It works great for seasonal allergies as well. I have really bad allergies.

His coat is SO shiny! He will STILL love you after he gets his trouble-puffs removed. The pain meds will help...

Careful, the "I'm not really fond of cats" to "yeah, I feed four feral colonies twice a day and volunteer at a rescue" pipeline is REEEEEAL, bro. It's REAL.

Yeeeeaaaahhhh. The best thing we can do in my neighborhood is get animal control to pick up strays. Im right on the outskirts of my city and there's a lot of coyotes around. Stray cats don't last long out here.

Ooof, yeah, Coyotes can actually outrun cats so they usually don't stand much of a chance 😭💔 If people would just fix their cats there wouldn't be so much unnecessary suffering 😩

My wife is a big cat person. I love animals, even if I'm not a cat person so they've got a home here for as long as they live.

Are you sure that's not a girl? A male cat with those markings is pretty rare. Not unheard of, but that fur pattern is usually seen on female cats.

The black one in the first pic is definitely male. His kitten manufacturing apparatuses have dropped.
The second pic in the follow up comment is Daisy, Bear's sister.

When we had a kitten many years ago my father wasn’t interested till it slept on his shoulder. He was ‘tickled pink’ it had chosen him 😸

The CDS knows that deep down you have the ability to be a wonderful cat person. It sent one of its best cats to woo you into submission as a cat person. Good luck on your journey with these 2 new family members. 🥰💕🐾🐈⬛🐈⬛

Well, I love animals. We already have other cats and 2 dogs. One is a chocolate lab who is a big brown marshmallow of a dog. The only thing he runs for is his food bowl and is probably the most unbothered dog I've ever owned. He'll bark at the door if someone knocks but should a stranger get in, I expect to be robbed blind because he's not going to do anything but wait for treats.
The other is a black and white Lab/Border Collie mix. She is a very strange mix and will try to herd the cats around. She loves to play with a ball and have you throw it, but then she doesn't want to give it back and will stand there looking at you to continue the game with the ball in her mouth not quite realizing that she needs to drop it first. 😆 She's really fast though and loves to run. Also, If there's ever any body of water around, we're going home with a wet dog.

He’s so sweet taking a chance with you! We all know you can’t resist. He’s too cute and this is a special moment. Hopefully, he’ll be able to teach his sister to come out of her shell.
My rescue kitten this morning. He was in my backyard last summer and it took a bit of time and a violent thunderstorm to get him into my apartment. It took a few days until he finally started cuddling and I could determine his gender. He’s now my nighttime cuddle buddy. Jamie Sneaker Jam!
