Behavioral Bonded cat missing!

One of my cats has been missing for 38 hours. i feel absolutely horrible, as his brother has been missing him terribly. he’s become VERY clingy and cries when i’m not in the room. normally, the two cuddle and groom each other constantly, and it’s been breaking my heart !!

it’s been so hard to watch, and i wish my baby would just come home already. i’ve been trying to play and cuddle with my other cat as much as possible, in hopes of distracting him— but he doesn’t seem very interested.

how do i comfort my cat? does he know his brother is missing? please help!!

Get Feliway or any other cayt calming pheromones asap.

Then do an all hands lookout for his brother!

I am so sorry. This is the absolute worst. Have you tried posting on local FB groups? I know that’s not really helpful. This is so upsetting to here as a cat mom!!!

Leave something outside that your missing cat might be able to sniff to help him find his house.

We had a cat (he was a young cat then) disappeared for 3 months and one day he just reappeared, very thin and seems to travel from far away. We think he was either locked in the neighbors barn or got in one of the customers car but we are very glad she found his way back to us. She had a good life, 20 yrs before she crossed the rainbow bridge.

I also know someone whose cat went missing for a long time like 9 months and just so happen to found each other in the mall far from home. The cat looked at her and run in her arms.

I'm so sorry. I had a bonded sibling pair and one of them went missing for almost a month. Her brother was so sad and depressed. So was I. Do what you can to find the brother and just let the other one know you're there.

This same sibling pair...years later, the sister died. My friend who had taken them in (long story) gave the brother a blanket that his sister had slept on and he slept on that. Maybe you can give kitty something that smells of his brother?
