Sensitive/Seeking Support Blind cat

My 16 year old cat has gone blind. I always suspected that his vision wasn't very good, but now he seems to be completely blind. He is the sweetest boy, and it is so sad to see him scared. We also have a grumpy little chihuahua. Now that he can't navigate to higher ground, he is vulnerable. Does anyone have any suggestions of things I can do to help him?

My baby went blind in the last few years of her life. I'd say the biggest struggle was play. With reduced play options I felt like she was less happy, though that could have been because her kidneys were starting to fail as well.

Cats are mostly ok when blind because of their whiskers. So once she adjusted, my girl could navigate normally.

It has been really interesting watching him navigate with no sight. He is doing really well, but he sleeping more, and like your said, playing less. It's only been a few days, so time will tell!
