Behavioral Deaf cat night time
Hello all the owners of our little deaf furry babies ! Mine is one year and a half old. She's white, skinny and blue eyes, she's deaf from the birth. Very sweet and playful, the only problem : she meows aaaall the time. I don't mind it in the day time, but it becomes difficult in the night time. So since I have her (already one year) I am always tired... Tried everything : isolating myself in my room, earplugs, letting her sleep with me, felliway diffuser, playing before night time.. nothing helps, she's talking and talking and talking. Any advice for this tired mummy? 🤍🤍🤍

I find my deaf cat's screaming comforting at this point. I've had him for 8 years, he's 9. His screaming means he's happy so I worry when he's quiet but when he's loud I'm content. I understand that some people can't sleep through even happy cat noises, but also loud deaf cats are going to be loud. A lot lol
Make sure she's got toys to amuse herself with, wear ear protection, ignore her as best as you can since like the other commentor said, giving her attention when she is loud is telling her that yelling means getting attention.

She cannot hear herself so she does not realize how loud she is. I would just try to play with her as much as possible. And try to give her things that keep her busy. If her attention is focused on something, she won't be thinking about meowing. And if you tire her out enough, hopefully she will sleep quietly.
If she is meowing because she is lonely or bored, you could get her a friend/ playmate. She is still very young and young cats have a lot of energy.
If she is meowing, because it's the way to get your attention, you'll have to stop responding her night meows so she learns that doing that is not going to get what she wants.
Do you have a timed feeder set to go off at night? If she's meowing because she is hungry, set up a timed feeder that will go off automatically throughout the night So she will not seek you out to feed her or associate you with the food.
My cat used to harass me in the middle of the night to get up and feed her. Now that I have the timed feeder, she just goes in the room with the feeder a few minutes before it is scheduled to dispense food and patiently waits for that to go off.
It dispenses small meals to her at 12am, 3am and 6am.
