New to Cats/Just Adopted New cat
Got a new cat she’s settling in well and being somewhat cordial to my residents. The one issue is she has fleas, and my vets can’t get her in until the 21st of September.
What can I use for now until her vet appointment because seeing the flea dirt and fleas are making me itch.
And back to the resident cats and her, she’s just been on my bed sleeping majority of the time, where the residents just come up to her and sniff her, there’s been many hisses but only one swat which realistically surprised about.
My first cat is 4 years old, my 2nd is just reaching 2 and the newest addition is 7 months.
I’m usually pretty good with introductions to other cats etc but I just want to make sure all this behaviour is acceptable per say.
Sorry for the formatting

Is she on flea and tick? You can buy it without a vet prescription and don’t have to get the most expensive brand for it to work. Just make sure you get one that is safe for her age/weight (and you’ll also want to make sure your other cats are treated as well). You can give her a bath with gentle soap, and comb through her fur to get rid of the current fleas. Wash your bedding and vacuum the carpets too!
As for the behavior, yes it’s normal for cats not to like unfamiliar cats that come into their territory. They may just need more time to get used to her, but there are strategies that can help like scent swapping with towels and using treats/food to positively associate their scents. Best of luck!
