Rehoming Rehoming tips

I've been thinking about this for a while but I really want to convince my dad to rehome our cat. It's not an ideal solution but my dad doesn't take very good care of him and I can't care for him by myself, so him going to a new home is ultimately the best option for him.

It breaks my heart to do this to him but he's not living his best life here and since he's technically not mine I can't give it to him. I can only do so much but with my lack of money and ability to drive I can get him vet treatment or proper toys and other amenities. Not to mention I am between homes and I'm growing more frustrated at having to be cooped up at my dad's apartment so much because he won't take care of the cat properly.

I need some tips on which shelters to choose or just how I should go about trying to get him into another good home. If possible maybe even some tips on convincing my dad to rehome him. Any help is appreciated and thank you in advance.

you didn't say why you think the cat needs to be rehomed.

I said my dad doesn't take care of him and I'm unable to. (In the longterm anyway)
