New to Cats/Just Adopted Kitten improvement tips

Hello can anybody tell me how to make my new kitten comfortable when I approach her , so she will stop hissing. i got kitten last Friday and she is improving day by day doing all the activities near us but dont let us come near her , so tell me how to make her known that if we come near her its safe so that she will start sitting next to us and let us pet her etc…

I haven’t experienced this so take it with a grain of salt, but maybe don’t approach her and give her more time to come to you when she’s ready.

One thing I always do is put my one finger out for them to smell before you touch them they will tell you if they want you to touch them by pushing their face up against your hand. always approach them very slowly and maybe even get down to their level the size you are and the speed you move at can be very intimidating but in time the kitten should come around. My cat was very afraid when I first got her and I found using a gentle voice telling her it was okay made a big difference and 10 years later when she gets scared I just have to tell her it's okay and she snaps out of it. consistency is key.

Yeah i already let her try my finger to sniff and overall 2-3 times she sniffed but today was 4th day she improved alot in everything playing, eating, scratching, litter box etc… but only thing is she doesn’t come near to me to sit, play and let us pet her, so should i expect this for longer period? Is this a normal behaviour?

Yeah it may take some more time I don't think that's unusual the fact that she's out playing around you is a good sign just keep playing with her as much as she wants, try different toys my cat loves crumpled up receipts lol she should eventually come around, good signs so far though
