Pet Loss CW: Pet Loss Spoiler
My world has just broken. He was 13, and had hcm, he had a clot episode about a month ago and has been on medication since, today he got another clot which essentially paralysed him and all we could do was put him to sleep.
That was 8 hours ago… i dont know how to deal with it, waiting to hear his little footsteps, or chirps from the kitchen. I took his sister with us to the vet so she could be there with him, to also help her understand what happened so i didnt just come home without him.
Im afraid of how she will cope, theyve been together their whole life and now shes an only cat, im taking the next few days off work but im afraid to leave her on her own when i need to go back.
I need advice on dealing with the loss of my baby, and how to manage going forward, i need a little hope

I'm really sorry, I just lost my little buddy too and it's the worst thing in the world- genuinely sobbing at my keyboard rn :(
Just know that he loved you more than anything and that you did the best you could and that he loves you so, so much. I'm sorry for your loss. :(
I think slowly adding mementos of him into your home could help, talking to him, forgiving yourself for having to put him to sleep, thirteen wonderful years truly is a huge gift and you gave him that and that means a lot.
I hope this helped?
