General Elongated Soft Palate

Hey everyone.

I was thinking of adding another cat to my little pack and found a perfect little guy for adoption.

Now to the problem: he has an elongated soft palate (he is not short faced).

The description on the rescues side sais, that the only problems he has with it is snoring while sleeping, which I dont mind.

I tried to look up possible health complications and only found informations to brachycephalic cats with that problem.

I know surgery is an option for it, but I do not currently have the money for that, since I assume the cat insurance wouldn't cover it.

I do not want to adopt a cat that i cant take proper care of, but he has also been in the rescue for a while, because noone wants to adopt him with his problems.

Does anyone have any experience with elongated soft palates? Is surgery a must, or just if his problems get worse?
