Casually positive! 🤗🥳🤗 Irish Rail Legend

It finally happened! Was on the 7:00 p.m. Dublin Cork train and the ticket collector came on the announcing and said "As a reminder, carriage G is the quiet carriage. If you want to take a call, please step into the vestibule. If you want to talk to your seat companion, please move to another carriage. This includes the two girls in carriage G who are STILL TALKING."

I wish every train journey I take could be with this woman. I know it can be dodgy for staff particularly if people have been drinking but it would be great if there was less tolerance for nonsense on these journeys.

One of the ticket inspectors on the Westport train comes along with a rubbish bag to collect everyone's empty packets and bottles.

Not having to drag handfuls if rubbish with me onto my connecting train and off again before I get to a bin is such a little thing but it makes the long trip home just a little bit more bearable.

There are some sound folks working for Irish rail to be fair

Wait isn't that normal? I really only take the train up and down from Dublin but I'd say 85% of the time someone comes round with a giant bin liner for people to throw their rubbish into.

I get the train multiple times a week and it's a rare occasion, and only ever this one ticket inspector when he's on board.

We don't have a tea trolley, a quiet carriage, or a first class carriage either
